''Ascending a Mountain of Heavy Light'' is a collaborative studio album between American extreme metal bands the Body and Full of Hell. Released on November 17, 2017 through Thrill Jockey, the album serves as the Body's 12th studio album and Full of Hell's sixth studio album. It's also the second collaborative album between the two bands, following 2016's ''One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache''. ''Ascending a Mountain of Heavy Light'' was promoted with an online stream of "Earth is a Cage" in August 2017. Reception The album was met with generally positive reviews from music critics. The Body is an American experimental metal duo that was formed in 1999 in Providence, Rhode Island by guitarist/vocalist Chip King and drummer/programmer Lee Buford. As of 2022, they have released seven solo full length albums as well as fifteen collaborative LPs, nine EP's, four splits, two compilations, two singles, and one collaborative live album. History Drummer Lee Buford started the band with hometown friend Chip King after one year of school at the Museum School in Boston and moving to Manhattan in a four-month stint with Blue Man Group. They released their eponymous first full-length album in 2004. The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others.
