Ascari Race Resort
The Circuito Ascari resort is a private motorsports club for automotive enthusiasts and manufacturers with a long motor racing circuit near Ronda, a city in the Spanish Province of Málaga. It was founded, designed, and built by , a racing enthusiast and owner of Ascari Cars; the track was completed in 2003. In 2022, Zwart sold the facility to two companies in Switzerland and Argentina. Ronda () is a town in the Spanish province of Málaga. It is located about west of the city of Málaga, within the autonomous community of Andalusia. Its population is about 35,000. Ronda is known for its cliff-side location and a deep chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the town. The track is built on land formerly used by the British Army as an ammunition depot; it was designed by Hermann Tilke, with input from Walter Röhrl. History The site was used since the 1970s as an ammunition depot for the British Army of the Rhine. When Great Britain withdrew its forces in 1993 following German reunification, the site reverted to its previous owner, Count Marcus -Sierstorpff. The Porsche 911 GT2 is a high-performance, track-focused sports car built by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 1993 to 2009, and then since 2010 as the GT2 RS. The Jaguar R5 was a Formula One racing car used by Jaguar Racing to contest the 2004 Formula One season. The R5 was the last chassis made by Jaguar Racing, before they became Red Bull Racing in . The car was driven by Mark Webber and rookie Christian Klien and its first 2004 Formula One outing was at the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona in pre-season testing.
