Asad Afridi
Asad Afridi (born 30 December 1992) is a Pakistani cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Abbottabad in the 2013–14 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 16 January 2014. He was the leading run-scorer for Federally Administered Tribal Areas in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with 437 runs in five matches. Khyber District
Khyber District ( ps, خېبر ولسوالۍ, ur, ) is a district in Peshawar Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. Until 2018, it was an agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas; with the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it became a district. It ranges from the Tirah valley down to Peshawar. It borders Nangarhar Province to the west, Orakzai District to the south, Kurram District to south west, Peshawar to the east and Mohmand District to the north. The major clans in District Khyber are Shinwari, Afridi, Mulagori and Shalmani. The majority of Afridis live in Khyber Agency, Dara Adam Khel, Kohat and Peshawar. All Afridi clans have their own areas in the Tirah Valley, and most of them extend down into the Khyber Pass over which they have always exercised the right of toll. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. The Abbottabad cricket team, also known as the Falcons, was a Pakistani first-class cricket team from Abbottabad. Their home ground was the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. 2013–14 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2013–14 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was one of two first-class domestic cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2013–14 season. It was the 56th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and was contested by fourteen teams representing regional cricket associations. It ran concurrently with the President's Trophy, which was contested by ten departmental teams. Rawalpindi won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the first time defeating Islamabad in the final. Format The format of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy remained unchanged from the previous season, with the fourteen regional teams divided into two groups. After a series of round-robin matches, the top four teams from each group proceeded to the Super-Eight stage of the competition, with the remaining six teams entering the "bottom six stage". Federally Administered Tribal Areas Cricket Team
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas cricket team (FATA) was a first-class cricket side who first competed in domestic cricket in Pakistan in the 2015–16 season. FATA entered the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy through a qualifying round. In their first ever first-class match, they drew with Habib Bank Limited cricket team in the 2015–16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. They won their first match in round 6 of the same edition of the tournament, when they defeated Rawalpindi by four wickets. In August 2016 they took part in Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament, the 2016–17 National T20 Cup. In their first match, they beat Rawalpindi by 15 runs. In November 2017, they reached the semi-finals of the 2017–18 National T20 Cup, but lost to Lahore Blues by 10 runs. 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 1 September to 8 December 2018. Following the conclusion of each match, the teams played each other in a List A fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup tournament. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited were the defending champions. In April 2018, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) won the Patron's Trophy Grade-II tournament to qualify for this years' edition of the competition. ZTBL won their opening fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, against Lahore Blues, by 151 runs. Prior to the start of the tournament, two players were dropped by their teams. Federal Areas Cricket Team
Federal Areas was a first-class cricket team in Pakistan based in the capital, Islamabad. Since February 2008 they have played 16 first-class matches in four seasons of the Pentangular Cup. Their home ground was the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. Background When the Pakistan Cricket Board revamped the Pentangular Cup for the 2007-08 season, they created the Federal Areas team to make a fifth competitor alongside the teams from the four provinces. In order to make the competition even, "the Pakistan Cricket Board selected the top 75 Quaid-e-Azam players plus 20 juniors and divided them mong the five teams mostly on a regional basis but reallocating some to strengthen the weaker sides." 2019 Pakistan Cup
The 2019 Pakistan Cup was the fourth edition of the Pakistan Cup, a List A cricket competition which was contested between five teams. It was held from 2 to 12 April 2019, with all the matches played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the top performers in the tournament would be considered for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. Federal Areas were the defending champions, but they lost their first three matches of the tournament, therefore eliminating them from competition. On 9 April 2019, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Sindh by nine runs to advance to the final of the tournament. The result meant that Baluchistan also progressed to the final, regardless of the outcome of their last match against Federal Areas. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the tournament, to win their second title, after beating Balochistan by nine runs in the final.
