2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 1 September to 8 December 2018. Following the conclusion of each match, the teams played each other in a List A fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup tournament. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited were the defending champions. In April 2018, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) won the Patron's Trophy Grade-II tournament to qualify for this years' edition of the competition. ZTBL won their opening fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, against Lahore Blues, by 151 runs. Prior to the start of the tournament, two players were dropped by their teams. Ahmed Shehzad, captain of Habib Bank Limited (HBL), was left out of HBL's squad after testing positive for the use of a banned substance. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. Hasan Raza (cricketer, Born 1982)
Hasan Raza (Urdu: حسن رضا; born 11 March 1982) is a Pakistani former cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team between 1996 and 2005. He initially was subject to something of a claim for an international cricketing record, as his debut performance was believed to have taken place at the age of 14 years and 233 days, then a world-record, sparking investigations over the legitimacy of his age claims. He was soon taken away from international play after struggling initially in the early 2000s, but was recalled against Australia and Zimbabwe in 2004. Hasan also captained the Pakistan side in early 2007 to Abu Dhabi in a tournament that consisted of India A, Sri Lanka A, UAE, Kenya, and the Netherlands. Federally Administered Tribal Areas Cricket Team
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas cricket team (FATA) was a first-class cricket side who first competed in domestic cricket in Pakistan in the 2015–16 season. FATA entered the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy through a qualifying round. In their first ever first-class match, they drew with Habib Bank Limited cricket team in the 2015–16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. They won their first match in round 6 of the same edition of the tournament, when they defeated Rawalpindi by four wickets. In August 2016 they took part in Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament, the 2016–17 National T20 Cup. In their first match, they beat Rawalpindi by 15 runs. In November 2017, they reached the semi-finals of the 2017–18 National T20 Cup, but lost to Lahore Blues by 10 runs. Islamabad Cricket Team
The Islamabad cricket team was a first-class cricket team based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its home ground was the Diamond Club Ground. It participates in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. For Twenty20 and List A cricket the team is known as the Islamabad Leopards and participates in the National T20 Cup and National One-day Championship. Islamabad was scheduled to play its first two first-class matches in the 1986-87 season in the BCCP President's Cup, but it conceded them without playing. It eventually made its first-class debut in 1992-93 in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, in which it has competed ever since, except for the 2002-03, 2003–04 and 2004–05 seasons. As of mid-November 2013, Islamabad had played 163 matches, for 39 wins, 54 losses and 70 draws. Karachi Whites
Karachi cricket teams competed in the Pakistani first-class cricket tournaments the Patron's Trophy and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy from 1953-54 to 2018-19. Beginning with the 2019-20 season, the city of Karachi has been represented in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Sindh cricket team. Teams Owing to the strength of cricket in Karachi, from the 1956–57 season the Karachi City Cricket Association has usually fielded two, sometimes three, first-class teams. (Lahore has done the same from the 1957–58 season.) The names of the teams have varied. Sui Southern Gas Company were a first-class cricket team, sponsored by Sui Southern Gas Company, who played in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in Pakistan from 2007-08 to 2009-10, and from 2014-15 to 2018-19. In May 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan revamped the domestic cricket structure in Pakistan, excluding departmental teams in favour of regional sides, therefore ending the participation of the team. Khan Research Laboratories was a Pakistani first-class cricket side who played in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and also competed in limited overs cricket. It was sponsored by Pakistani nuclear enrichment facility Khan Research Laboratories (KRL). They have played first-class cricket since the 1997–98 season. Peshawar Cricket Team
The Peshawar cricket team was a Pakistani first-class cricket team from Peshawar. The team's home ground was Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. The List A and Twenty20 side was known as the Peshawar Panthers. Peshawar first played in first-class competitions in 1956-57, and they have competed in most seasons since then, except for a hiatus between 1977-78 and 1983-84. Apart from a few matches played by North-West Frontier Province in the 1970s, Peshawar were usually the only first-class team from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (formerly known as North-West Frontier Province) until the debut of Abbottabad in 2005-06.
