Peshawar Cricket Team
The Peshawar cricket team was a Pakistani first-class cricket team from Peshawar. The team's home ground was Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. The List A and Twenty20 side was known as the Peshawar Panthers. Peshawar first played in first-class competitions in 1956-57, and they have competed in most seasons since then, except for a hiatus between 1977-78 and 1983-84. Apart from a few matches played by North-West Frontier Province in the 1970s, Peshawar were usually the only first-class team from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (formerly known as North-West Frontier Province) until the debut of Abbottabad in 2005-06. Peshawar won the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1998-99 and 2004-05 and the ABN-AMRO Cup National One-day Championship in 2006-07. They also won the 2011-12 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Division Two. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. Safiullah Khan (cricketer, Born 1940)
Safiullah Khan (born March 1979) is a Pakistani footballer, who is a member of Pakistan national football team. Khan is a forward who earned his first international cap during the IndoPak football series in 2005. He also got the Highest Goal-Scorer Award in the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers 2009. Career Khan debut was on 16 June 2005 which was the second game in a series of three games against India, the game finished 1–0 loss to Pakistan. After a three year absence Khan was selected to play in an AFC Challenge Cup qualifier against Brunei on April 6, 2009. In the match he scored four goals with the game finishing 6–0 in Pakistan's favour, becoming at the time, the only player in Pakistan soccer history to score four goals in an international fixture. Karachi Whites
Karachi cricket teams competed in the Pakistani first-class cricket tournaments the Patron's Trophy and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy from 1953-54 to 2018-19. Beginning with the 2019-20 season, the city of Karachi has been represented in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Sindh cricket team. Teams Owing to the strength of cricket in Karachi, from the 1956–57 season the Karachi City Cricket Association has usually fielded two, sometimes three, first-class teams. Arshad Khan (cricketer)
Arshad Khan ( ur, , born 22 March 1971) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who is the current bowling coach of Pakistan women's cricket team. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. Arshad was first picked to play against the West Indies during the 1997–98 season, and the following year, was part of the team which won the Asian Test Championship at Dhaka against Sri Lanka. He captained Pakistan in the 1998 Commonwealth Games Kuala Lumpur. He was a regular inclusion in the Pakistani side until 2001. Four years later, a strong performance in the Pakistani domestic championship meant that Arshad earned a recall for Pakistan's 2005 tour of India. Umar Gul (Urdu: , ps, عمر گل) (born 15 October 1982 ) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who is the current bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators. He played all three formats of the game as a right arm fast medium bowler for the Pakistani cricket team. He gained fame as one of the most successful bowlers in Twenty20 cricket, finishing as the leading wicket taker and bowler in both the 2007 and 2009 Twenty20 World Championship tournaments. Wajahatullah Wasti (Urdu: وجاہت اللہ واسطی; born 11 November 1974) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is member of The National Selection Committee Pakistan Cricket Board . He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm offbreak bowler. Wasti played in six Test matches between February 1999 and May 2000, but soon found himself out of the side after much criticism on his performance. Fazl-e-Akbar Durrani (born 20 October 1980) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Akbar made his Test match in February 1998 in a match between South Africa and Pakistan. Yasir Hameed Qureshi (Urdu: یاسر حمید قریشی) (born 28 February 1978) is a former Pakistani cricketer, who played 25 Tests and 56 ODIs for Pakistan. Haseeb Ahsan
Haseeb Ahsan ( ur, حسيب احسن; 15 July 1939 – 8 March 2013) was a Pakistani cricketer who played 12 Test matches for Pakistan between 1958 and 1962. He was born in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A right-arm off spinner, he took 27 wickets in Test cricket at an average of 49.25, including two five-wicket hauls. During his first-class career, he played 49 matches and took 142 wickets at an average of 27.71. Former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Hasan said about him that he "was a fighter to the core and served Pakistan cricket with honour and dignity." Ahsan had conflicts with former Pakistan captain Javed Burki. A controversy regarding his bowling action resulted in the premature end of his international career when he was only 23. Pakistan Railways Cricket Team
Pakistan Railways (usually known simply as Railways) were a Pakistani first-class cricket side who played in the Patron's Trophy and Quaid-i-Azam Trophy from 1953-54 to 1995-96. They were based in the city of Lahore and sponsored by Pakistan Railways. Playing record The team's most successful season came in 1973-74 when they took out both trophies in a side captained by Arif Butt. Other Pakistani internationals in the side included Saleem Pervez and Mohammad Nazir. In December 1964 Railways set a new first-class cricket record for the greatest winning margin in a match. Batting first they made 6 for 910 declared and then bowled their opponents Dera Ismail Khan out for 32 and 27 to win by an innings and 851 runs.
