Federal Areas Cricket Team
Federal Areas was a first-class cricket team in Pakistan based in the capital, Islamabad. Since February 2008 they have played 16 first-class matches in four seasons of the Pentangular Cup. Their home ground was the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. Background When the Pakistan Cricket Board revamped the Pentangular Cup for the 2007-08 season, they created the Federal Areas team to make a fifth competitor alongside the teams from the four provinces. In order to make the competition even, "the Pakistan Cricket Board selected the top 75 Quaid-e-Azam players plus 20 juniors and divided them mong the five teams mostly on a regional basis but reallocating some to strengthen the weaker sides." First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. The Punjab cricket team was a cricket team representing the Punjab region in Pakistan first-class cricket. List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Rao Iftikhar Anjum ( ur, ) (born 1 December 1980) is a former Pakistani cricketer right arm medium fast bowler and right hand batsman. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cricket team is a domestic cricket team in Pakistan representing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
