Arthur Liddicut
Arthur Edward Liddicut (17 October 1891 – 8 April 1983) was an Australian cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Victoria between 1912 and 1933. A lower-middle-order batsman and fast-medium bowler, Liddicut toured New Zealand with an Australian team in 1920-21, playing both of the matches against New Zealand, but did not play Test cricket. His highest first-class score was 152 for Victoria against South Australia in 1920-21, batting at number nine. His best bowling figures were 7 for 40 against Tasmania in 1929-30 when, captaining Victoria, he opened the bowling and bowled throughout the innings, dismissing Tasmania for 77. Against the touring MCC team in 1922-23 he took 4 for 16 from 15 eight-ball overs then scored 102 in 138 minutes. Victorian Premier Cricket
Victorian Premier Cricket is a club cricket competition in the state of Victoria administered by Cricket Victoria. Each club fields four teams (firsts through to fourths) of adult players and usually play on weekends and public holidays. Matches are played on turf wickets under limited-time rules, with most results being decided on a first-innings basis. Outstanding players in the competition are selected to play for the Victorian Bushrangers at first-class and List A level, in the Sheffield Shield and Marsh One Day Cup competitions respectively. The competition commenced in the 1906–07 season when it was known as "District cricket", and was renamed in 1990. Separate competitions for one-day matches (2002–03) and Twenty20 (2005–06) were later established. Cricket Victoria (CV) is the governing body for the sport of cricket in the Australian state of Victoria. It was formed on 29 September 1875 as the Victorian Cricket Association. It is integrated with the Victorian Women's Cricket Association to include funding, programs, office accommodation and staff assistance. An English team raised by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) toured Australia in November 1922 and March 1923 on their way to and from a longer tour of New Zealand. Victoria Cricket Team
The Victoria men’s cricket team is an Australian first-class men's cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The men’s team, which first played in 1851, represents the state of Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield first-class competition and the Marsh One Day Cup 50-over competition. It was known as the Victorian Bushrangers between 1995 and 2018, before dropping the Bushrangers nickname and electing to be known as simply Victoria in all cricket competitions.
