Fitzroy Doncaster Cricket Club
The Fitzroy Doncaster Cricket Club, nicknamed the Lions, play cricket in the elite club competition of Melbourne, Australia, known as Victorian Premier Cricket. The club was formed by a 1986 amalgamation of Fitzroy Cricket Club, a foundation member of Victorian Premier Cricket in 1905, and Doncaster Cricket Club, a Victorian Sub-District Association team formed in 1864. Victorian Premier Cricket
Victorian Premier Cricket is a club cricket competition in the state of Victoria administered by Cricket Victoria. Each club fields four teams (firsts through to fourths) of adult players and usually play on weekends and public holidays. Matches are played on turf wickets under limited-time rules, with most results being decided on a first-innings basis. Outstanding players in the competition are selected to play for the Victorian Bushrangers at first-class and List A level, in the Sheffield Shield and Marsh One Day Cup competitions respectively. The competition commenced in the 1906–07 season when it was known as "District cricket", and was renamed in 1990. Separate competitions for one-day matches (2002–03) and Twenty20 (2005–06) were later established. Victorian Bushrangers
The Victoria men’s cricket team is an Australian first-class men's cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The men’s team, which first played in 1851, represents the state of Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield first-class competition and the Marsh One Day Cup 50-over competition. It was known as the Victorian Bushrangers between 1995 and 2018, before dropping the Bushrangers nickname and electing to be known as simply Victoria in all cricket competitions. Victoria shares home matches between the Melbourne Cricket Ground in East Melbourne and the Junction Oval in St Kilda. Lloyd Mash
Lloyd Ryan Mash (born 1 December 1981 in Melbourne, Victoria) is a former Australian first-class cricketer who played for the Victorian Bushrangers. He was a left-handed top order batsman. His Junior club was the Eltham Cricket Club. He currently plays in the Victorian Premier Cricket competition for Fitzroy Doncaster Cricket Club and is Captain/Coach. He was schooled at Eltham High School, earning his VCE in 1999. Like his Bushrangers teammate Nick Jewell, Mash came from a footballing background, having played for Eltham Football Club, Eltham in the Diamond Valley Football League. Mash had a superb debut season with the Bushrangers scoring 505 Pura Cup runs, although he failed to score a century. His first-class debut was made against the touring West Indian side. Darren Berry
Darren Shane Berry (born 10 December 1969) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who was known for his sharp skills as a wicketkeeper, first with South Australia and then Victoria in the Sheffield Shield and ING Cup domestic competitions. He led the Redbacks to the first premiership win in 2010 of the BBL. Berry was the head coach of the South Australia cricket team for 5 years. Including the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL Tournament. Gary Maxwell Watts (born 22 October 1958) is an Australian former cricketer. He played 67 first-class cricket matches for Victoria cricket team, Victoria between 1977 and 1991. Watts played twenty-six seasons of Victorian Premier Cricket, district/premier cricket for Fitzroy Cricket Club, Fitzroy/Fitzroy-Doncaster between 1975/76 and 2000/01, and scored a career total of 12,933 runs at 42.26. John Scholes (cricketer)
Walter John Scholes (5 January 1950 – 14 July 2003) was an Australian first-class cricketer and coach. He also played 30 games of Australian rules football for North Melbourne Football Club between 1967 and 1971 scoring 35 goals as a rover before a knee injury cut short his football career. Scholes was a successful junior cricketer, captaining the Victorian under-15s to victory in the Sydney carnival. He once scored 100 runs and took 10 wickets in a game, becoming the first ever Australian schoolboy to do so. In the 1968–69 season he made his debut for Victoria, aged just 18. He was appointed Victoria's youngest ever captain at the time when 21 years of age, by the end of his 62-game career, the right-hander made 3201 runs at 30.78. Alexander Daniel Hales (born 3 January 1989) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed opening batter who currently plays for Nottinghamshire and the England cricket team in white ball, limited overs formats.
