Arthur Bryan
Sir Arthur Bryan (4 March 1923 – 11 February 2011) was managing director of the Wedgwood pottery firm (now Waterford Wedgwood). He became the first non-Wedgwood family member to hold the post when he succeeded Josiah Wedgwood V in 1967. He was knighted in 1976 for services to export. Wedgwood is an English fine china, porcelain and luxury accessories manufacturer that was founded on 1 May 1759 by the potter and entrepreneur Josiah Wedgwood and was first incorporated in 1895 as Josiah Wedgwood and Sons Ltd. Waterford Wedgwood plc was an Irish holding company for a group of firms that specialized in the manufacture of high-quality porcelain, bone china and glass products, mostly for use as tableware or home decor. The group was dominated by Irish businessman Tony O'Reilly and his family, including his wife Chryss Goulandris and her family, with the two families together having invested hundreds of millions of euros in it. The group's financial record was mixed, and significant cost-cutting had been ongoing for many years. Josiah Wedgwood V
Josiah Wedgwood V (20 October 1899 – 18 May 1968) was the Managing Director of the Wedgwood pottery firm from 1930 until 1968 and credited with a transformation in the company's fortunes. Wedgwood was one of seven children of Josiah Wedgwood IV (later Lord Wedgwood) and The Hon. Ethel Kate Bowen, daughter of Sir Charles Bowen, 1st Baron Bowen. He was the great-great-great-grandson of the potter Josiah Wedgwood. His sister was the anthropologist Camilla Wedgwood.
