Armyansk Railway Station
Armiansk is a railway station in Armyansk, Armiansk, Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine, but ''de facto'' under control and administration of Russia. History The station was opened in 1935 as a terminus on the Dzhankoy—Armyansk, Armiansk line, but later the line was upgraded to Kherson. After Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014 all passenger services between Armiansk and Vadym railway station in Kherson Oblast were suspended. Southbound passenger services from Kherson railway station, Kherson now terminate at Vadym, 7–8 km north from Armiansk checkpoint. United Nations General Assembly Resolution 68/262 was adopted on 27 March 2014 by the sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly in response to the Russian annexation of Crimea and entitled "territorial integrity of Ukraine". Kherson Railway Station
The Kherson railway station ( uk, Станція Херсон) is the main railway station in the Ukrainian city of Kherson. It first opened in 1907, and is currently operated by Odesa Railways. History The station was built in 1907 as part of an extension to the Kharkiv-Mykolaiv rail line. This extension opened in October 1907. On November 11, 1915, Tsar Nicholas II visited the station with his heir Alexis. Russian invasion of Ukraine On February 24, 2022, all train service from the station halted with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Following the Liberation of Kherson in November 2022, Ukrainian Railways and United24 launched "Tickets to Victory" in Kherson station to sell charity tickets and help raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Annexation Of Crimea By The Russian Federation
In February and March 2014, Russia invaded and subsequently annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. This event took place in the aftermath of the Revolution of Dignity and is part of the wider Russo-Ukrainian War.
