Armida Publications
Armida Publications is an independent publishing house based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Founded in 1997 their primary goal is to promote high-level English-language publications from Cyprus, Greece, and the Eastern Mediterranean region in general. Their focus on Eastern Mediterranean enables them to carry titles from authors worldwide who have the region at the core of their work. Over the course of their history, they have won and have been nominated for awards for literature from the European Union and also the International Rubery Book Award. Their title ''To Peirama'' (The Experiment) by Myrto Azina Chronides won the European Union Prize for Literature for Cyprus in 2011. Cyprus

Rina Katselli
Rina Katselli (1938 – 28 May 2021) was a writer and politician from Cyprus. She is considered one of the most important contemporary Cypriot playwrights and prose writers. In 1981, she became the first Greek Cypriot woman to serve in Cyprus' House of Representatives. Katselli's work frequently drew on her experience of displacement from her home region of Kyrenia after the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, including in her widely translated 1978 novel ''Galazia falaina''. Biography Katselli was born Rina Charalambidis in 1938 in Kyrenia, in the northern part of the island of Cyprus. After she finished high school in the late 1950s, she joined the ranks of EOKA, a Greek Cypriot nationalist guerrilla organization that opposed British rule of the island. European Book Prize
The European Book Prize (french: Le Prix du Livre Européen) is a European Union literary award established in 2007. It is organized by the association Esprit d'Europe in Paris. It seeks to promote European values, and to contribute to European citizens' better understanding of the European Union as a cultural entity. Eligible books must have been published in one of the 27 European Union (EU) member-states in the preceding year, in the original language or a translation. Works are submitted in one of two categories: ''essai'' (which in French means, something broader than the English "essay") and ''romans et récits'' ("novels and narratives"). A long list is drawn up by the organizers in Paris; the number varies but for example, in 2011, there were 50 essais plus 47 romans et recits.
