Arizal (director)
Arizal (born in Airmolek, Indragiri, Riau on January 11, 1943 - died on May 18, 2014) was a prominent Indonesian film director. Career His parents, Ibrahim Sidi Mangkuto and Matayam bt M. Yasin, were of Minangkabau descent. He studied at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. Arizal is one of Indonesia's most productive film directors and script writers. He directed 52 films and 8 soap operas (''sinetron'') with 1,196 episodes between 1974 and 2006. He directed the comedy film series of Warkop DKI. In the 1980s, his work brought success to Yessy Gusman, Rano Karno, Yenny Rachman, Roy Marten and Lydia Kandou as famous artists. Arizal's best known films are '' Gita Cinta dari SMA'' (1979), ''Pintar-pintar Bodoh'' (1980) and ''Maju Kena Mundur Kena'' (1983), which achieved the highest audience in that year. Indragiri Hulu Regency
Indragiri Hulu ( or Upper Indragiri) is a regency (''kabupaten'') of Riau, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency has an area of 8,198.71 km2 and had a population of 363,442 at the 2010 census, 408,704 at the 2015 census and 444,548 at the 2020 census. Haryo Heroe Syswanto Ns. Soerio Soebagio (18 July 1956 – 23 January 2018), better known as Sys NS, was an Indonesian radio personality and politician. Biography Early life and music career Sys was born in Semarang, Central Java, on 18 July 1956. In the late 1960s he established an underground radio station with his elder brother. In 1970 Sys joined Prambors FM in Jakarta as a DJ and broadcaster. In 1975 Sys was chosen as Indonesia's best DJ. In 1976 he and fellow Prambors employee Mochamad Noor came up with the idea for a teenage song-writing competition. For one song, "Lilin-Lilin Kecil", written by James F. Sundah, Sys felt as though he needed "someone with the voice of an angel". to sing "Lilin-Lilin Kecil", and in his opinion Chrisye fitted the role perfectly. PT Indosiar Visual Mandiri, commonly known as Indosiar, is an Indonesian over-the-air television network. It broadcasts nationwide on UHF and can be received throughout the Indonesian archipelago on analog PAL television sets, established on 19 July 1991, later began test broadcast in 18 December 1994, and officially launched in 11 January 1995. It is owned by Elang Mahkota Teknologi since 2011; it eventually operated under its subsidiary, Surya Citra Media since 1 May 2013, when the network's original owner, Indosiar Karya Media, absorbed into the latter company. Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network. It was launched on 24 August 1990 in Surabaya, East Java as Surabaya Centra Televisi, broadcasting to the city and its surrounding area. At first, the programming was similar to that of RCTI, broadcasting foreign shows and some of RCTI news programs until they could produce their own. On 30 January 1993, SCTV obtained a national license and eventually moved its operations to Jakarta, changing its name to Surya Citra Televisi. Its main offices are located in Central Jakarta, with studios in West Jakarta. It is owned by Surya Citra Media, a publicly-listed subsidiary of the technology company Emtek. Nani Widjaja ( Perfected Spelling: Nani Wijaya; 10 November 1944 – 16 March 2023) was an Indonesian actress and model who won two Citra Awards for Best Supporting Actress. She was best known for her role in television ''Bajaj Bajuri''. She was the part of Classical Indonesian Cinema. Early life Nani Widjaja was born on 10 November 1944 in Cirebon, West Java, to Raden Ambari Widjaja. She took a university education in criminology from the University of Indonesia, and in 1973 she graduated from an acting workshop from Parfi and the Jakarta Art Institute. Personal life Marriages, relationship, and children Widjaja was married to fellow film activist and former director Misbach Yusa Biran, who was the brother of director Ida Farida. He died in 2012. RCTI (''Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia'') is a West Jakarta-based Indonesian free-to-air television network. It is best known for its soap operas, celebrity bulletins, news, and sports programmes. It was first launched in 1989, originally as a local pay television operator that broadcasts mostly foreign programmes, before switching to free-to-air terrestrial network a year later. ''Gita Cinta dari SMA'' (''Love Song in High School'') is a 1979 Indonesian film directed by Arizal and starring Rano Karno and Yessi Gusman. Plot Galih (Rano Karno) and Ratna (Yessi Gusman) are two high school students who excel at everything they do; they are popular and receive good grades. Soon they begin falling in love. Despite Ratna's father objecting to their relationship, they continue to meet in secret. When Ratna's father finds out, he attempts to arrange for her to marry someone else. With Ratna receiving support from the other female members of her family, this fails; Ratna and Galih are able to continue dating. Production ''Gita Cinta dari SMA'' was based on Eddy D. Lydia Kandou
Lydia Ruth Elizabeth Kandou or better known as Lydia Kandou (born in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 21, 1963) is an Indonesian actress and model of mixed Dutch, Filipino and Minahasan descent. Biography Kandou was born in Jakarta on 21 February 1963. She is of mixed Manado and Dutch descent. Kandou first found work as a model. When 16 years old, she was invited to act by director Imam Tantowi. She made her feature film debut in Has Manan's ''Wanita Segala Zaman''. During the next five years she acted in over 20 films, including several directed by Nyak Abbas Akup. These included a role as the singer Chrisye's love interest in Syamsul Fuad's ''Seindah Rembulan'' and several films with the comedy troupe Warkop.
