Aris Leeuwarden
Aris Leeuwarden is a Dutch professional basketball club based in Leeuwarden. The club competes in the BNXT League, and has competed at the highest national level since 2004. Aris plays its home games at the Kalverdijkje. Its most notable successes are reaching the DBL finals in 2013 and the NBB Cup final in 2020. History The parent club was actually founded in 1992, when the clubs Sporty and Ymir merged into BV Aris. In 2004 the professional team was founded, when the team promoted from the Promotiedivisie – the Dutch second-tier league – to the Eredivisie. The team, coached by Tom Simpson, was named Woon!Aris for sponsorship reasons and reached the Playoffs in its first season. After then, the team failed to reach the postseason for four seasons. BNXT League
The BNXT League, for sponsorship reasons the betFirst BNXT League, is a professional basketball league in Belgium and the Netherlands. The league is the first tier in both the Dutch and Belgian system, replacing the Dutch Basketball League, DBL and Pro Basketball League, PBL. The inaugural season was the 2021–22 BNXT League, 2021–22 season, which started in September 2021. The BNXT League plays national playoffs as well as a cross-border playoffs to determine a Dutch champion, Belgian champion and BNXT champion. 2009–10 NBB Cup
The 2009–10 NBB Cup was the 42nd season of the Dutch NBB Cup. The championship game was played on 24 March 2013 in the Topsportcentrum in Almere. West-Brabant Giants was a Dutch professional basketball club based in Bergen op Zoom. The club was established in 2003 and dissolved in 2011. The team played its games at Sporthal de Boulevard and its main colors were red and white. History The club was established in 2003 and was called Fun 4 All, for sponsorship reasons. The 2009–10 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 50th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. GasTerra Flames dominated throughout the regular season and lost just three games. Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden player Danny Gibson was league top scorer and won the Most Valuable Player award. GasTerra Flames eventually won its third title in team history, by beating World Class Aviation Academy Giants 4–1 in the playoff finals. Pete Miller (basketball)
Richard "Pete" Miller (born May 4, 1952) is an American retired basketball player and current coach. Playing career Miller played collegiate basketball for the San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team. From 1975, Miller played three seasons with Nationale Nederlanden Donar in the Dutch Eredivisie. He averaged 20.4 points per game over three seasons in the Eredivisie. Later, he left to play in Germany for Bayer Leverkusen and later Bayern Munich. Coaching career Miller started his coaching career with Bayern Munich in 1985 and spent the next decade in Germany coaching several clubs in the Munich area. In 2008, Miller returned to the Netherlands to coach Aris Leeuwarden. In 2010, he reached the semi-finals of the DBL with Aris. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972.
