Ariel Beit-Halahmy
Ariel Avraham Beit-Halahmy ( he, אריאל בית הלחמי; born February 4, 1966) is an Israeli professional basketball coach who is the current head coach for Hapoel Gilboa Galil of the Israeli Basketball Premier League, Israeli Premier League. Early life Beit-Halahmy grew up in Giv'at Shmuel, Givat Shmuel and played for the Elitzur Givat Shmuel basketball youth team. Coaching career Early years (1999–2015) In 1999, Beit-Halahmy started his coaching career with Elitzur Givat Shmuel. In his fourth season with Givat Shmuel, Beit-Halahmy led the team to the Israeli League semifinals, and reached the Israeli Basketball State Cup, Israeli State Cup Final, where they eventually lost to Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C., Maccabi Tel Aviv. In 2003, Beit-Halahmy was named Elitzur Ashkelon head coach. The 2019–20 Israeli Basketball Premier League, for sponsorship reasons Ligat Winner, was the 66th season of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. On 13 March 2020, the league was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league resumed behind closed doors on 21 June 2020 in a different format. The Israeli Basketball State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה בכדורסל) is the second most important professional basketball competition in Israel, after the Israeli Basketball Super League, Israeli Super League. It is the national federation cup of Israel. The tournament began in the 1955–56 season, and is run by the Israel Basketball Association. In the 21–22 season, the tournament format was changed so that only the first 8 teams at the end of the first rotation of the Israeli Basketball Premier League will compete.
