2006 Winner Cup
Winner Cup 2006 is the 1st edition of the Israeli basketball pre-season tournament - Winner Cup. It was played on 15 October-19 October in Jerusalem at the Malha Arena, during the jewish holiday of Sukkot. Ironi Ashkelon has won the cup after beating Maccabi Rishon LeZion (basketball), Maccabi Rishon LeZion 79-73 in the final. Withdrawals The teams that finished at the top eight places on Ligat HaAl (basketball) 2005–06, Basketball Super League 2005–06 were supposed to compete in the tournament. Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C., Maccabi Tel Aviv that finished 1st in the 2005-06 season has withdrawn from the tournament due to schedule problems. Hapoel Tel Aviv B.C., Hapoel Tel Aviv that finished on the 8th place was relegated to the 2nd division due to financial problems and was not eligible to compete in the tournament. Ironi Nahariya Basketball Club ( he, מועדון הכדורסל עירוני נהריה; ) known for sponsorship reasons as Ironi Rain Nahariya () is a professional basketball club based in city of Nahariya in northern Israel. The team plays in the Liga Leumit (the second tier of Israeli basketball) and internationally in the Balkan International Basketball League. Ousmane Cisse (born October 20, 1982) is a Malian retired professional basketball player. Standing at 6' 9" he played both power forward and center positions. Jason Williams (born November 17, 1983) is an American professional basketball player. A 1.98 m (6'6") forward, Williams last played for Chorale Roanne Basket of the LNB Pro B and has been a free agent since 2019. Omri Moshe Casspi ( he, עומרי משה כספי, born June 22, 1988) is an Israeli former professional basketball player. He mainly played at the small forward position, but could play also at the power forward position.
