Apostolic Nunciature To Eritrea
The Apostolic Nunciature to Eritrea is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Eritrea. It is a diplomatic post of the Holy See, whose representative is called the Apostolic Nuncio with the rank of an ambassador. The Nuncio resides in Sudan and usually holds the title Apostolic Nuncio to Sudan as well. Since 31 March 2020, the position of Apostolic Nuncio to both Sudan and Eritrea has been held by Archbishop Luis Miguel Munoz Cardaba of Spain. An apostolic nuncio ( la, nuntius apostolicus; also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio) is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a state or to an international organization. Silvano Maria Tomasi
Silvano Maria Tomasi C.S. (born 12 October 1940) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who has served as the Special Delegate to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta since 1 November 2020. He was the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in Geneva from 2003 to 2016. He previously worked in the Roman Curia, became an archbishop in 1996, and represented the Holy See as an apostolic nuncio in Africa from 1996 to 2003. Dominique François Joseph Mamberti (born 7 March 1952) is the Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura in the Roman Curia. He was elevated to the rank of cardinal by Pope Francis in 2015. Early life and education Dominique Mamberti was born in Marrakesh, Morocco, on 7 March 1952 and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Ajaccio, France, on 20 September 1981. Leo Boccardi (born 15 April 1953) is a prelate of the Catholic Church who had worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He has been an archbishop and apostolic nuncio since 2007. Biography Boccardi was born in San Martino in Pensilis, Italy. He was ordained to the priesthood on 24 June 1979 by Pope John Paul II. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 13 June 1987 and then worked in several countries before returning to the offices of the Secretariat of State in Rome. Hubertus Matheus Maria van Megen (born 4 October 1961) is a Dutch prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Luis Miguel Muñoz Cárdaba (born 25 August 1965) is a Spanish prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 2001.
