Aowanda Suspension Bridge
The Aowanda Suspension Bridge () is a suspension bridge in Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area, Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. Technical specifications The bridge spans over a length of 180 meters with 90 meters of clearance below it. It is equipped with 1.4 meters' height of metal mesh barrier on both sides of the bridge. Ren'ai Township () is a mountain indigenous township in Nantou County, Taiwan. Nantou County
Nantou County (; Hokkien POJ: ''Lâm-tâu-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Nàm-thèu-yen'') is the second largest county of Taiwan by area, located in the central part of the country. Simple Suspension Bridge
A simple suspension bridge (also rope bridge, swing bridge (in New Zealand), suspended bridge, hanging bridge and catenary bridge) is a primitive type of bridge in which the deck of the bridge lies on two parallel load-bearing cables that are anchored at either end. They have no towers or piers. The cables follow a shallow downward catenary arc which moves in response to dynamic loads on the bridge deck. The arc of the deck and its large movement under load make such bridges unsuitable for vehicular traffic. Simple suspension bridges are restricted in their use to foot traffic. Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area
Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area () is a forest located in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. Geology The forest spans over an area of 2,787 hectares at an altitude of 1,100-2,600 meters. It is divided into the waterfall zone, forest park, maple area and pine tree site. It is located at the back of Wanda Reservoir. It is home to more than 200 species of birds.
