Anwar Sadath
Anwar Sadath (born 18 February 1975) is an Indian politician and a member of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. He is a member of Indian National Congress and represents Aluva Constituency. Early life Anwar Sadath was born on 18 February 1975 as the son of Shri. Abdul Sathar and Smt. Aisha Beevi. He was School Unit President, K.S.U and School Leader. He progressed to become the District Level; Taluk Secretary and District Executive Committee Member of K.S.U and later on he became the Block Secretary, District Secretary and State Secretary of Youth Congress. He also became a Member of the Chengamanad Grama Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat, Nedumbassery Division. Political career In the 2011 assembly election, he defeated AM Yusuf of the CPI (M). In the 2016 Kerala Assembly election he defeated Advocate V. Salim by 18835 votes and was re-elected as an MLA. Aluva
Aluva (; also known by its former name Alwaye) is a town in the Ernakulam District in Kerala, India. It is a part of the Kochi metropolitan area and is situated around from the city center on the banks of Periyar River. The Kerala Students Union (abbreviated KSU) is a students organization in Kerala, India. It functions as the student wing of the Indian National Congress in the state. KSU was founded in 1957 at Alappuzha, with M. A. John as its main organiser and Vayalar Ravi founding general secretary. The original group consisted of M. A. John, Vayalar Ravi, George Tharakan and A.A. Samad. It functioned as the student wing of the Pradesh Congress Committee. 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held on 16 May 2016 to elect 140 MLAs to the 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. Voter turnout was 77.53%, up from 75.12% in the previous election. The result was declared on 19 May 2016. The Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), won the election, defeating the incumbent United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Indian National Congress (INC), which could only win 47 seats in the election. The United Democratic Front (UDF) is the Indian National Congress-led alliance of centre to centre-left, and centre-right, political parties in the Indian state of Kerala.
