Antoine Goléa
Antoine Goléa (real name Siegfried Goldman) (30 August 1906 in Vienna – 12 October 1980 in Paris) was a French musicologist of Romanian origin. He was one of the founding members of the Académie Charles-Cros. Biography Having been pushed by his father to become a violinist, Antoine Goléa entered the Conservatory of Bucharest at the age of nine, and studied violin under the guidance of Cecilia Nitzulescu, a brilliant and despotic "failed violinist", who initially believed in his talent. But, after nine years of study, they both have to face the facts: he was not made to be a virtuoso violinist, despite his undeniable gifts, in particular that of the " absolute pitch", and despite the first violin prize which crowned his long years of study. He was then eighteen years old. After three years at the French high school in Bucharest, his parents decided to send him to France to complete his secondary education. Olivier Eugène Prosper Charles Messiaen (, ; ; 10 December 1908 – 27 April 1992) was a French composer, organist, and ornithology, ornithologist who was one of the major composers of the 20th-century classical music, 20th century. His music is rhythmically complex; Harmony, harmonically and melody, melodically he employs a system he called ''modes of limited transposition'', which he abstracted from the systems of material generated by his early compositions and improvisations. He wrote music for chamber ensembles and orchestra, vocal music, as well as for solo organ and piano, and also experimented with the use of novel electronic instruments developed in Europe during his lifetime. Max Eschig
Max Eschig (27 May 1872 – 3 September 1927) was a Czech-born French music publisher who published many of the leading French composers of the twentieth century, later also including many East European and Latin American composers. Life Eschig was born in Troppau (now Opava, Czech Republic). He worked for a while for the Mainz, Germany, based music publisher B. Schotts Söhne before he went to Paris in 1907 to establish his own music publishing company. Initially, he also acted as the French representative of publishers like Breitkopf & Härtel, Ricordi, Schott, Simrock, Universal Edition, and others. He grew considerably in importance in France when he took over a number of established publishers in the course of the 1920s. Eschig died in Paris in 1927 at the age of 55. Éditions Julliard is a French publishing house. It was founded in 1942 by René Julliard. Julliard was known as a discoverer and publisher of talents, in particular Françoise Sagan and Jean d'Ormesson. Cimetière parisien de Bagneux is one of the three Parisien cemeteries ''extra muros'', located in Bagneux. The cemetery has a large Jewish section (many of the divisions have exclusively Jewish graves) and is sometimes known as the '' Jewish cemetery''. History Before the site became a cemetery, it was the scene of heavy fighting in May 1871, in the war between the Versailles and the Fédérés. The cemetery was opened on 15 November 1886 and is one of the three Parisien Cemeteries ''extra muros'', the others being Cimetière Parisien de Thiais (opened in 1929) and Cimetière Parisien de Pantin.
