Anthony Rimington
Rear Admiral Anthony Kingsmil Rimington is a senior Royal Navy officer. He is currently serves as Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Policy). Naval career Educated at Sherborne School and Durham University, Rimington joined the Royal Navy in September 1991. He trained as a naval pilot and then took part in the evacuation of personnel from Beirut in 2006. He became commanding officer of 702 Naval Air Squadron in 2012, planning team lead at UK Maritime Component Command in 2014 and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Navy Commitments in 2015. After that he became Chief of Staff to the Carrier Enabled Power Projection ('CEPP') team in 2016 and station commander of RNAS Culdrose (HMS Seahawk) in 2018. The Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (A.C.N.S.) is a senior appointment in the Royal Navy usually a two-star rank and has a NATO ranking code of OF-7. History The Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff was originally directly responsible to the First Sea Lord for non-operational divisions of the Admiralty Naval Staff, and held a position on the Board of Admiralty. The position was created in 1917 as one of two deputies with Board Status to whom the First Sea Lord delegated responsibility for the running of the Naval Staff. 702 Naval Air Squadron (702 NAS) was a naval squadron of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. It was based at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset and earlier at RNAS Portland in Dorset. As a training Squadron it trained all ground and air crew for the sister front-line maritime Lynx squadron, 815 NAS It merged with 700(W) NAS to form 825 NAS. 702 NAS disbanded on 1 August 2014. Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose (RNAS Culdrose, also known as HMS ''Seahawk''; ICAO: EGDR) is a Royal Navy airbase near Helston on the Lizard Peninsula of Cornwall UK, and is one of the largest helicopter bases in Europe. Its main role is serving the Fleet Air Arm's front line AgustaWestland Merlin helicopter squadrons. Rear Admiral Iain Stuart Lower, is a senior Royal Navy officer. He was Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Policy) 2020-2022. Naval career Lower joined the Royal Navy on 1 May 1992.
