Anne Judell
Anne Judell (born 1942) is an Australian artist and winner of the 2011 Dobell Prize for drawing. Judell was born in Melbourne in 1942, and studied at RMIT University. She moved to Sydney in 1977 and then to the New South Wales southern highlands in 1992, returning to Melbourne in 2014. The work of Judell was the subject of a 2002 exhibition at Campbelltown Arts Centre. A 2007 drawing executed in gesso and charcoal on Hahnemühle paper, ''First light'', was selected for inclusion in the Blake Prize exhibition. In 2011, after having been a finalist nine times, she won the Dobell Prize for a triptych, ''Breath'', done in pastel on paper. The Dobell Drawing Prize is a biennial drawing prize and exhibition, held by the National Art School in association with the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation.The prize is an open call to all artists and aims to explore the enduring importance of drawing and the breadth and dynamism of contemporary approaches to drawing. Hahnemühle FineArt, Inc. is a paper manufacturing company in the Relliehausen district of Dassel, Germany. It is a significant producer of coated paper for inkjet printing, artist's paper for traditional painting and printing techniques, and filter paper for industry and research. History The company traces its origins to the construction of a paper mill by Merton Speiss on 27 February 1584 in Relliehausen at the source of a river in the Solling (a range of hills). Guy Warren of Ghana, also known as Kofi Ghanaba (4 May 1923 – 22 December 2008), was a Ghanaian musician, best known as the inventor of Afro-jazz — "the reuniting of African-American jazz with its African roots" — and as a member of The Tempos, alongside E. T. Mensah. He also inspired musicians such as Fela Kuti. Warren's virtuosity on the African drums earned him the appellation "The Divine Drummer".
