Anne Hytta
Anne Hytta (born 14 September 1974 in Sauland, Norway) is a Norwegian traditional folk musician playing the Hardingfele. Biography Hytta has been training hardingfele with Einar Løndal (1914–2005) and Knut Buen (b. 1948) among others. She writes and arranges new music at the intersection of Traditional folk music, Contemporary classical music and other modal traditional folk music traditions. Her main project next to playing solo fiddle is in the trio Slagr, initiated by Hytta in 2003. The trio has written and performed two commissioned works, the last, straum, stille (stream, silent), was performed at the Osa Festival in 2008. Their debut album ''Solaris'', was released in 2007, and the second album Straum, Stille in 2011. Slagr received ensemble support from the Norsk kulturråd (Arts Council Norway). Sauland
Sauland is a village (parish) and the administrative center in Hjartdal municipality in Telemark county. The population is above 800 people in 2016, which equates over half of all households in the whole municipality. The village is placed in the south/east corner of the municipality and is one of the three parishes in Hjartdal. The place was until Notodden was founded, a center in Aust-Telemark, and had at this time the magistrate for the district. Until 1860 it had its own separate stave church (), which was torn down and replaced with the wooden church () that stands today. The village bordering to the parishes Tuddal, Gransherad, Heddal, Seljordsbygda and Hjartdalsbygda. It also bordered earlier to Bøbygda before the current municipal boundary was set. Camilla Granlien
Camilla Granlien (born 1974) is a Norwegian folk singer, stev performer and educator. She was born in Elverum, and has studied music at the Voss Folk High School, the Ole Bull Academy, and the Telemark University College. She has worked as song teacher at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and at secondary schools in Vinstra and Gjøvik. She has participated in various musical groups, and made her solo album debut in 2005 with the album ''Begjær''. Her album ''Jarnnetter'' from 2008 is based on lyrics by poets Tor Jonsson and Olav Aukrust, with a mixture of traditional melodies and music composed by Granlien. Andreas Ulvo (born 22 July 1983 in Kongsvinger, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz pianist, organist, keyboardist and composer, known from cooperations with Shining, Ingrid Olava, Mathias Eick Quartet, Solveig Slettahjell & Slow Motion Orchestra, Karl Seglem and Thom Hell. Career Ulvo holds a master's degree in Jazz and Improvisation from Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He has with his own projects Eple Trio, a Norwegian contemporary jazz trio playing their own original music, been on tour in Japan 2010, playing gigs in Tokyo, Chiba, Kobe, Kanazawa, Yokohama and Saitama. NorCD
NorCD (established 1991 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian record label for folk, jazz, world music and improvisational music, led by the founder saxophonist and composer Karl Seglem. NorCD is distributed through Musikkoperatørene, and is a member of FONO. Biography In 1991 Karl Seglem decided to create a new free record label to distribute his music. The company soon enlisted a number of Norwegian performers in different genres. A derivation of the company was the label SOFA, which focused on the European improv, led by Ingar Zach and Ivar Grydeland. The NorCD catalog features 110 CD-titles (spring 2012) with many of the foremost Norwegian jazz and folk musicians. A concert is a live music performance in front of an audience.
