Anna-Lena Löfgren
Anna-Lena Löfgren (1 May 1944 – 21 May 2010) was a Swedish singer from Stockholm. During the years 1962 and 1995, more than 40 of her songs made it onto Svensktoppen, the record chart of Sveriges Radio. Löfgren became one of the most best known schlager singers in Sweden during the 1960s. She made her first public appearance on the radio show ''Barnens brevlåda'' in the 1950s. A few years later Löfgren was discovered by the Swedish rock singer Rock-Olga at the nightspot Nalen in Stockholm. Her breakthrough came soon after in 1962 with the song "Regniga natt", which was certified gold (sold more than 100,000 copies) and topped that year's Svensktoppen. The success continued with her following singles, including "Se mig i ögonen älskling", "Måndag måndag", "Kärlek på lasarett", and "Det finns ingenting att hämta". In the Eurovision Song Contest 1968, Sweden was represented by Claes-Göran Hederström with the song "Det börjar verka kärlek, banne mig", written and composed by Peter Himmelstrand. It finished 5th (out of 17) with 15 points, including 6 from Norway, the highest number of votes awarded that year. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1968 Melodifestivalen 1968 was the selection for the 10th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the ninth time that this system of picking a song had been used. 2233 songs were submitted to Sveriges Television, SVT for the competition. In the Eurovision Song Contest 1963, Sweden was represented by Monica Zetterlund, a popular jazz singer. Her song, written by Bobbie Ericsson and Beppe Wolgers, was called "En gång i Stockholm". Carli Thornehave also sung the winning song at the national final. The contest, which was held in London, did not go very well for Sweden. They scored for the first (and so far only) time the infamous nul points, among with their neighbours Finland and Norway, and also Netherlands. Neil Sedaka (; born March 13, 1939) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Since his music career began in 1957, he has sold millions of records worldwide and has written or co-written over 500 songs for himself and other artists, collaborating mostly with lyricists Howard Greenfield, Howard "Howie" Greenfield and Phil Cody. After a short-lived tenure as a founding member of the doo-wop group the Tokens, Sedaka achieved a string of hit singles over the late 1950s and early 1960s, including "Oh!
