Anglesey (; cy, (Ynys) Môn ) is an island off the north-west coast of Wales. It forms a principal area known as the Isle of Anglesey, that includes Holy Island across the narrow Cymyran Strait and some islets and skerries. Anglesey island, at , is the largest in Wales, the seventh largest in Britain, largest in the Irish Sea and second most populous there after the Isle of Man. Isle of Anglesey County Council administers , with a 2011 census population of 69,751, including 13,659 on Holy Island. The Menai Strait to the mainland is spanned by the Menai Suspension Bridge, designed by Thomas Telford in 1826, and the Britannia Bridge, built in 1850 and replaced in 1980. North Wildwood is a city located on the Jersey Shore in Cape May County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is part of the Ocean City metropolitan statistical area. Anglesea, Victoria
Anglesea is a town in Victoria, Australia. It is located on the Great Ocean Road in the Surf Coast Shire local government area. In the , Anglesea had a population of 2,545 people. Originally known as Swampy Creek, the area's name was changed to Anglesea River in 1884 when the township was established. A Post Office under that name opened on 16 April 1886. and was renamed Anglesea in 1950. The name derives from Anglesey, an island in North Wales. Alcoa of Australia operated a power station and open-cut coal mine near the town from 1969 until August 2015. The site is now the subject of restorative work. In February 1983, the Ash Wednesday fires swept through the area, destroying many houses. Pete Anglesea
Anthony Peter Anglesea (born 30 October 1971 in Blackrod, Lancashire, England) was a rugby union rugby player, who played back row for the Sale Sharks. Highly regarded by Sale when forced to retire through injury in 2006, he first took a role with the Academy at Sale and is now part of the coaching set up with the first team. In 2003 he played for England against the Barbarians at Twickenham and also captained the England A Churchill Cup team on tour to Canada and Japan. Anglesea was called up to the senior England squad for the 2002 tour of Argentina. Anglesea's club highlight is probably his ''Man of the Match'' performance in Sale's Parker Pen European Shield final win over Pontypridd in 2002. He was selected as club captain for the 2003-04 season and was a member of Sale's Guinness Premiership winning squad in 2005-06. Marquis Of Anglesea (1815 Ship)
''Marquis of Anglesea'' was a British ship, launched in 1815 at Sunderland. She initially traded with India under a license from the British East India Company (EIC). She then traded with the Americas. In 1829, she carried 104 settlers and troops to the Swan River Colony. She was wrecked there on 4 September 1829, a few days after she had landed them and her cargo. Her hulk then served the Colony's government for some three years before a storm finally destroyed her. Career ''Marquis of Anglesey'' first appeared in ''Lloyd's Register'' (''LR'') in 1816. In 1813 the EIC had lost its monopoly on the trade between India and Britain. The Anglesea Football Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club situated in the township of Anglesea, near the city of Geelong in Victoria. The club plays its home games at Ellimatta Oval, Anglesea, and competes in the Bellarine Football League, an Australian rules competition established in 1971 in the Bellarine Peninsula region of Victoria. ''Anglesea'' is the debut EP by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was released on 26 May 2011. The EP features the simple lyrical style and noisy arrangements found throughout many of King Gizzard's earliest songs. It was initially released on CD, and was not available digitally until the EPs inclusion on the '' Teenage Gizzard'' compilation, a collection of pre-''Willoughby's Beach'' tracks. Background King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard started off as an informal jam band, playing shows to a small number of people around Melbourne and Geelong playing the few songs they had. Anglesea Barracks
Anglesea Barracks is an Australian Defence Force barracks in central Hobart, Tasmania. The site was chosen in December 1811 by Lachlan Macquarie and construction began on the first buildings to occupy the site in 1814. It is the oldest Australian Army barracks still in use and celebrated its bicentenary in December 2011. Despite the small variation in spelling it was named after Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey who was involved with the Board of Ordnance.
