Angers European First Film Festival
The Angers European First Film Festival (french: Festival Premiers Plans d'Angers) is an annual film festival held in the city of Angers, France every January since 1989, dedicated to European cinema. History The first edition of this festival took place in 1989 at the initiative of its current delegate general , founder of the art house cinema ''Les 400 coups'' in Angers, and of a group of moviegoers. Since 2011 , the festival collaborates with the Beijing First Film Festival. In 2013, it attracted nearly festival-goers. In 2016, admissions were estimated to be more than and more than 150,000 euros in prizes awarded to films selected by juries or spectators. Angers (, , ) is a city in western France, about southwest of Paris. It is the prefecture of the Maine-et-Loire department and was the capital of the province of Anjou until the French Revolution. The inhabitants of both the city and the province are called ''Angevins'' or, more rarely, ''Angeriens''. Nathalie Marie Andrée Baye (born 6 July 1948) is a French film, television and stage actress. She began her career in 1970 and has appeared in more than 80 films. Christophe Honoré
Christophe Honoré (born 10 April 1970) is a French writer and film and theatre director. Career Honoré was born in Carhaix, Finistère. After moving to Paris in 1995, he wrote articles in ''Les Cahiers du Cinéma''. He started writing soon after. Robert Jules Guédiguian (born 3 December 1953) is a French film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Most of his films star Ariane Ascaride and Jean-Pierre Darroussin. Claude Miller (20 February 1942 – 4 April 2012) was a French film director, producer and screenwriter. Life and career Claude Miller was born to a Jewish family. A student at Paris' IDHEC film school from 1962 through 1963, Miller had his first practical cinematic experience while he was in uniform, serving with the ''Service Cinéma de l'Armée''. From 1965 until 1974, Miller worked in assistant and supervisory capacities for many of France's major directors, including Robert Bresson and Jean-Luc Godard. His principal mentor was François Truffaut, under whose tutelage Miller directed a trio of shorts and ''La meilleure façon de marcher'' (''The Best Way to Walk'', 1976), his first theatrical feature, a coming-of-age drama which bore traces of Truffaut's ''Les Mistons'' (1957) and ''The 400 Blows'' (1959).
