André Wasiman
André Wasiman (born 11 April 1962) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Wasiman was a product of the Excelsior youth academy, and was promoted to the first team in 1980. He made his debut as a starter under manager Hans Dorjee in a 2–1 loss in the Eredivisie to AZ '67 on 30 August 1980. He scored his first professional goal on 23 November 1980, equalizing against Roda JC in a 1–1 away draw at Gemeentelijk Sportpark Kaalheide. In 1990, Wasiman moved to FC Eindhoven in the second-tier Eerste Divisie, scoring a brace in one of his first games against his former club Excelsior in a 4–1 win for Eindhoven. Wasiman joined FC Volendam in 1992, where he enjoyed the most success in his career. In 1995, Volendam reached the final of the KNVB Cup for the second time in their history, facing Feyenoord. Surinam Airways Flight 764 was an international scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands to Paramaribo-Zanderij International Airport in Suriname on a Surinam Airways DC-8-62. On Wednesday 7 June 1989, the flight crashed during approach to Paramaribo-Zanderij, killing 176 of the 187 on board. It is the deadliest aviation disaster in Suriname's history. Investigation revealed significant deficiencies in the crew's training and judgement. They knowingly attempted to land using an inappropriate navigation signal and ignored alarms warning them of an impending crash. Sigi Lens (born 26 October 1963) is a retired Surinamese footballer and currently is a sports agent. During his career he served AZ and Fortuna Sittard. He was one of the footballers that survived the Surinam Airways Flight PY764 air crash in Paramaribo on 7 June 1989. His nephew Jeremain Lens is also a professional footballer. Playing career In his playing career Lens was a tall, but quick forward who was able to play as a right winger or a striker. He made his professional debut at AZ in the 1985-86 season when he featured in a team with players like Kees Kist and Pier Tol.
