André Juillard
André Juillard (born 9 June 1948) is a French comic book creator. Biography Born in Paris, Juillard is one of the most prolific artists of historical comics in France. His career began in 1974. After studies in the School of Decorative Arts of Paris ( l'école des Arts décoratifs de Paris), Juillard started in the popular magazine ''Formule 1'', drawing ''La Longue Piste de Loup Gris'', a Western story with scenario by Claude Verrien. He then adapted '' Roméo et Juliette'' for the magazine ''Djin''. In 1976, he began his first long series, featuring the knight ''Bohémond de Saint-Gilles'', based on a text written by Claude Verrien, published in ''Formule 1''. During this period he also started ''Isabelle Fantouri'' based on texts by Josselin, for ''Djin'', as well as ''Les Cathares'' with Didier Conrad for the same publication. Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize For Best Comic Book
Angoulême (; Poitevin-Saintongeais: ''Engoulaeme''; oc, Engoleime) is a commune, the prefecture of the Charente department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Angoumoisins'' or ''Angoumoisines''. The Prix Saint-Michel is a series of comic awards presented by the city of Brussels, with a focus on Franco-Belgian comics. They were first awarded in 1971, and although often said to be the oldest European comics awards, they are actually the second oldest comics award in Europe still presented, behind the Adamson Awards. Their history is quite erratic though, with a long pause between 1986 and 2002. The Haxtur Award (''Premios Haxtur'') is a Spanish award for comics published in Spain. It is awarded annually at the Salón Internacional del Cómic del Principado de Asturias (International Comics Convention of the Principality of Asturias). Grand Prix De La Ville D'Angoulême
The Grand Prix de la ville d'Angoulême is a lifetime achievement award given annually during the Angoulême International Comics Festival to a comics author. Although not a monetary award, it is considered the most prestigious award in Franco-Belgian comics. It has been awarded mainly to French and Belgian authors, but also to international authors. Recipients are, on average, 50 years old. Three women, Florence Cestac, Rumiko Takahashi, and Julie Doucet have been awarded the prize.
