André Figueiredo
André Peixoto Figueiredo Lima (born 10 November 1966) is a Brazilian lawyer, economist, entrepreneur and politician. He is a member of the Democratic Labor Party (PDT). Born in Fortaleza, André Figueiredo has degrees in Economy (1987) and Law (1995) from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), and a postgraduate degree in Foreign Trade from the University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR). Biography He joined the Seed of Liberation Movement that used Paulo Freire's methodology to literate and form citizens in the neighborhood of Pirambu, in Fortaleza. Figueiredo was student leader, president of the Economy Academic Center and director of the UFC Students Central Directory, and president of the Economy Students National Executive. The Chamber of Deputies () is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current president of the chamber is the Deputy Hugo Motta ( Republicanos- PB), who was elected on 1 February 2025. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Aguinaldo Velloso Borges Ribeiro (born 13 February 1969) is a Brazilian who has served as minister of cities under the Rousseff administration and a member of the champer of deputies from Paraíba. Personal life Ribeiro comes from a political family, with his father Enivaldo being the leader of the PP in the state and mayor of Campina Grande from 1977 to 1983; his mother Virgínia was mayor of Pilar, and his sister Daniella is a senator in the local jurisdiction. Ribeiro is a devout Baptist and often takes part with evangelical politicians in campaigning for positions based on Christian values.
