Aguinaldo Ribeiro
Aguinaldo Velloso Borges Ribeiro (born 13 February 1969) is a Brazilian who has served as minister of cities under the Rousseff administration and a member of the champer of deputies from Paraíba. Personal life Ribeiro comes from a political family, with his father Enivaldo being the leader of the PP in the state and mayor of Campina Grande from 1977 to 1983; his mother Virgínia was mayor of Pilar, and his sister Daniella is a senator in the local jurisdiction. Ribeiro is a devout Baptist and often takes part with evangelical politicians in campaigning for positions based on Christian values. Ribeiro was at one time a close ally of Eduardo Cunha, and was one of the few deputies in the senate who did not vote for an investigation into Cunha for corruption. Eventually however Ribeiro relented to pressure from other politicians and voted in favor of the investigation, which lead to Cunha denouncing him as a "traitor, liar, and hypocrite." The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Progressistas (; PP) is a centre-right to right-wing political party in Brazil. Alberto Youssef (born 6 October 1967) is a Brazilian black-market banker. He has been implicated in several of Brazil's largest scandals during the past generation. He was a figure in the Banestado scandal, and later was a major target of Operation Car Wash, the official investigation of corruption surrounding Petrobras, the government-controlled oil company. Brazil Labor Reform (2017)
The 2017 labor reform in Brazil was a significant change in the country's Consolidation of Labor Laws ( pt, Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho). According to the government, the goal of the reform was to combat unemployment and the still ongoing 2014 Brazilian economic crisis. The bill was proposed and sent to the Chamber of Deputies by the president Michel Temer on December 23, 2016. Since then, during its processing in the National Congress, it was going through several debates and additions to the original bill, for example, the proposal to end the obligatory syndicate (labor union) tax paid by workers hired under the CLT. The bill was approved by the Chamber on April 26, 2017, with 296 favorable votes and 177 against. Later, in the Federal Senate, it was approved on July 11, 2017, by 50 versus 26 votes.
