Andrew White (Australian Politician)
Andrew William Henry White (1859 – 3 November 1936) was an Australian politician. Born in Emerald Hill, Victoria, White attended Williamstown Grammar School before becoming a clerk with the Colonial Bank in 1874, managing the Fitzroy branch from 1879 and the Echuca branch from 1883. He resigned from the bank in 1885 to join James Shackell in the Echuca auctioneering firm Shackell, White & Co. In 1886, he married Mary Leonard, with whom he had two sons. He was mayor of Echuca from 1893 to 1894 and from 1906 to 1907. In 1894 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for Rodney, serving until 1897. He purchased the Wharparilla station in 1907 and was Rochester shire president from 1919 to 1929. Andrew White (basketball)
Andrew Jackson White III (born June 16, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Northside Wizards of the NBL1 North. He played in college for Kansas, Nebraska, and Syracuse. College career White began his collegiate career at Kansas and played sparingly during his two seasons with the Jayhawks, averaging just 2.2 points per game as a freshman and 2.4 as a sophomore. He transferred to Nebraska and sat out a season. In his redshirt junior year, he averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Cornhuskers, shooting 41.2 percent from behind the arc. After graduating, White played a postgrad year for the Syracuse Orange, leading the team in scoring with 18.5 points per game. Andrew Roland White (born 3 July 1980) is a former Irish cricketer. He played in the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, where Ireland reached the Super 8 stage. He is now a P.E. teacher in Grosvenor Grammar school. Andrew is currently the Free Kicks coach at Ards Football Club. Playing career He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He played for Northamptonshire, and with Ireland. He also lined up for the Irish Under-19s squad between 1999 and 2000. Andrew White (Jesuit)
Andrew White, SJ (1579 – December 27, 1656) was an English Jesuit missionary who was involved in the founding of the Maryland colony. He was a chronicler of the early colony, and his writings are a primary source on the land, the Native Americans of the area, and the Jesuit mission in North America. For his efforts in converting and educating the native population, he is frequently referred to as the "Apostle of Maryland." He is considered a forefather of Georgetown University, and is memorialized in the name of its White-Gravenor building, a central location of offices and classrooms on the university's campus. Andrew Paul Bartholomew White (born June 1964) is a British clergyman who was the Vicar of St George's Church, Baghdad, the only Anglican church in Iraq, until his departure was ordered in November 2014 by the Archbishop of Canterbury due to security concerns. Known as the "Vicar of Baghdad", White is former president of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East. He was previously Director of International Ministry at the International Centre for Reconciliation at Coventry Cathedral, England. A flanker, White represented and at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1921 to 1925. Andrew White (September 6, 1942 – November 11, 2020) was an American jazz and R&B multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, oboe and bass guitar), musicologist and publisher. Biography White was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, completing his public school education there. He returned to Washington, D.C., in September 1960 to attend Howard University. He graduated in June 1964, ''cum laude'', with a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in music theory, and with a minor in oboe. After his four years at Howard University, he attended the Paris Conservatory of Music, in Paris, France, on a John Hay Whitney Foundation Fellowship for continued study of the oboe. Andrew Dickson White (November 7, 1832 – November 4, 1918) was an American historian and educator who cofounded Cornell University and served as its first president for nearly two decades.
