Andrew McLuckie "Andy" White (27 July 1930 – 9 November 2015) was a Scottish drummer, primarily a session musician. He is best known for temporarily replacing Ringo Starr on drums for the Beatles' first single, "Love Me Do". White was featured on the American 7" single release of the song, which also appeared on the band's debut British album, ''Please Please Me''. He also played on " P.S. I Love You", which was the B-side of "Love Me Do". White played with other prominent musicians and groups both in the United Kingdom and the United States, including Chuck Berry, Billy Fury, Herman's Hermits and Tom Jones. AllMusic called White "one of the busier drummers in England from the late '50s through the mid-'70s". Andy White (born 6 November 1981) is an English footballer. He is 6 foot 4 inches and weighs 14 stone. He played his first football at Hucknall Town, before being signed by Stuart Watkiss at Mansfield Town. He was loaned out to various clubs including Boston United, Crewe Alexandra, Kidderminster Harriers and Burton Albion. He was released, by the then manager, Keith Curle and then joined Championship side Crewe Alexandra. When he was released by Crewe, Gudjon Thordarson signed him for Notts County. In June 2006 White re-joined Kidderminster Harriers on a one-year contract. In March 2007 he joined Stafford Rangers on a short-term loan deal. White was then released by Kidderminster at the end of the 2006-07 season. White joined Alfreton Town F.C. at the start of the 2007-2008 season, linking up with ex-Chesterfield and Bradford City manager Nicky Law. He soon moved on to Worksop Town. Andrew White (born 1 September 1991) is an English footballer who plays for Winchester City. White was an apprentice at Reading, for whom he played regularly at youth and reserve levels. He had several loan spells at non-league teams, but was released by Reading at the end of the 2009–10 season, and joined Gillingham, of League Two. He made his Gillingham debut as a substitute in a League Cup fixture away to Norwich City on 10 August 2010. After going more than two months without another appearance he was sent on one month loans to Margate in October 2010, where he was sent off on his debut appearance, and to Bishop's Stortford in January 2011. Andrew Dickson White (November 7, 1832 – November 4, 1918) was an American historian and educator who cofounded Cornell University and served as its first president for nearly two decades. He was known for expanding the scope of college curricula. A politician, he had served as state senator in New York. Andrew Benjamin White, Jr. was a manager of advanced computer projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he served as the Deputy Associate Director of the Theory, Simulation and Computing Directorate, and the Roadrunner Project Director from 2006-2012. Before that, he founded and served as Director of the Los Alamos Advanced Computing Laboratory (1989-1998) and Program Manager for the Department of Energy (DOE) High Performance Computing and Communications program.
