Andrew Pickett
Andrew Pickett (born May 12, 1996) is a professional Canadian football offensive lineman for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Pickett played U Sports football for the Guelph Gryphons from 2014 to 2017. He was named an OUA All-Star three times and was named a U Sports All-Canadian in 2017. Professional career Ottawa Redblacks Pickett was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks in the third round, 22nd overall, in the 2018 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 16, 2018. However, he suffered a season-ending injury before the regular season began and spent the entire 2018 season on the injured list. In 2019, he sustained another injury and was again out for the season. He did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the 2020 CFL season. Entering the 2021 season fully healthy, Pickett played in his first professional game in the Redblacks' season opening win against the Edmonton Elks on August 7, 2021. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. 2018 CFL Draft
The 2018 CFL Draft took place on May 3, 2018, at 8:00 pm ET and was broadcast on TSN and RDS... The ''Ottawa Sun'' is a daily newspaper in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is published by Sun Media. It began publication in 1983 as the ''Ottawa Sunday Herald'', until it was acquired by (then) Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation in 1988. In April 2015, Sun Media papers were acquired by Postmedia. 2021 Ottawa Redblacks Season
The 2021 Ottawa Redblacks season was the seventh season for the team in the Canadian Football League. The Redblacks were eliminated from postseason contention following their week 10 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on October 23, 2021. This was the second straight season that the Redblacks failed to qualify for the playoffs. This was the first season for Paul LaPolice as the team's head coach and the seventh season with Marcel Desjardins as general manager, until his dismissal on October 25, 2021. An 18-game season schedule was originally released on November 20, 2020, but it was announced on April 21, 2021 that the start of the season would likely be delayed until August and feature a 14-game schedule.
