Andrew Bell (artist)
Andrew Bell (born October 27, 1978, in Guildford, England) is a British-born American artist and founder of Dead Zebra Inc. He specializes in creating collectible designer toys. Bell also works in a variety of other mediums from illustrations and paintings to sculptures. Much of his work is brought together by a sense of humor that often belies a more serious and sombre message. His company and toys have been featured in publications such as the New York Times. In addition to his extensive toy and art catalog, he has also published three books of drawings. Career Bell began his graphic arts career as an intern at Marvel Comics while attending the School of Visual Arts in New York. After completing his internship, he continued to work there for another two years as a freelance designer. From 2000 to 2005, he worked for Nickelodeon as a senior designer. Andrew Bell (engraver)
Andrew Bell (1726–1809) was a Scottish engraver and printer, who co-founded ''Encyclopædia Britannica'' with Colin Macfarquhar. Biography Bell was born in Edinburgh in 1726, his father a baker. He had little formal education and was apprenticed to the engraver Richard Cooper. Bell was a colourful Scot. His height was 4-foot 6; he had crooked legs and an enormous nose that he would sometimes augment with a paper-mache version whenever anyone stared at his natural nose. Bell began work as an engraver of crests, names, etc. on dog collars. Despite his small stature, he deliberately rode the tallest horse available in Edinburgh, dismounting by a ladder to the cheers of onlookers. Bell produced almost all of the copperplate engravings for the 1st-4th editions of the ''Britannica'': 160 for the 1st, 340 for the 2nd, 542 for the 3rd, and 531 for the 4th. Andrew Bell (27 March 1753 – 27 January 1832) was a Scottish Episcopalian priest and educationalist who pioneered the Madras System of Education (also known as "mutual instruction" or the "monitorial system") in schools and was the founder of Madras College, a secondary school in St Andrews. Andrew Bell (5 September 1803 – 27 September 1856) was a Presbyterian minister who was born in London, England, moved to Scotland and emigrated to Upper Canada with his family in 1817. Bell and his family settled at Perth where his father was a minister. He studied under his father until 1823 and then pursued divinity courses in Scotland. He returned to Upper Canada in 1826, his formal studies not completed. Bell had a successful career within the Presbyterian Church. However, some of his most important contributions to Canada came through his hobby, geology. Andrew Scott Bell (born 21 February 1966) is an Australian lawyer and judge currently serving as the Chief Justice of New South Wales. He was a Rhodes Scholar for New South Wales, practised as a barrister-at-law and an adjunct professor at the University of Sydney, and from 2019 was the President of the New South Wales Court of Appeal.
