Andreas Leigh Aabel
Morten Andreas Leigh Aabel (10 February 1830 – 9 May 1901) was a Norwegian physician and poet. Biography He was born at Sogndal in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. His father, Peter Pavels Aabel (1795-1869), was the vicar and senior priest in Sogndal from 1824–1833. He was a brother of priest, Oluf Andreas Aabel (1825–1895). He enrolled as a student in 1848, graduated with the cand.med. degree in 1856. Professionally, he worked as a physician from 1853 to 1899, and was a district physician in several Norwegian districts. He first worked as a district physician in Hammerfest followed by private practice in Åsnes. At the end of the 1850s, Aabel became a doctor at Nes in Romerike. In 1864 he was appointed a district physician in Sunnfjord, and the family settled at Falkenstein in Førde. From 1876 to 1885 he was a doctor in Nord Aurdal in Valdres. Andreas Aabel
Andreas Aabel (February 21, 1911 – December 29, 1948) was a Norwegian actor and translator. Family Andreas Aabel was the son of the actor Hauk Aabel and the actress Svanhild Johannessen, and the brother of the actor Per Aabel. He was the grandson of the physician and poet Andreas Leigh Aabel. He married Ellen Johanne Didriksen (1911–2001) in 1936. Career Aabel made his theater debut at the Central Theater in 1930. He appeared in five films between 1932 and 1948. Aabel died of a throat infection in 1948. Norwegian Students' Society ( no, Det Norske Studentersamfund) is Norway's oldest student society. The Norwegian Students' Society was established during 1813 in Oslo, Norway. Two years after the Royal Frederick University (today named the University of Oslo) was founded, 18 of the 19 students formed the Norwegian Students' Society. It has been the centre of debate, culture and politics for over 200 years. The idea was to make a social, intellectual and cultural arena for the students in Norway's capital. Originally a closed literary club, in 1820 it was opened for all students. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. Personal life He was born in Elverum as a son of physician Christopher Pavels Munthe (1816–1884). He was a younger brother of historian and military officer Hartvig Andreas Munthe, painter Gerhard Munthe and writer Margrethe Munthe.
