Andreas Aabel
Andreas Aabel (February 21, 1911 – December 29, 1948) was a Norwegian actor and translator. Family Andreas Aabel was the son of the actor Hauk Aabel and the actress Svanhild Johannessen, and the brother of the actor Per Aabel. He was the grandson of the physician and poet Andreas Leigh Aabel. He married Ellen Johanne Didriksen (1911–2001) in 1936. Career Aabel made his theater debut at the Central Theater in 1930. He appeared in five films between 1932 and 1948. Aabel died of a throat infection in 1948. Svanhild Johannessen
Svanhild Johannessen (August 21, 1882 – January 15, 1971) was a Norwegian actress. Svanhild Johannessen was born in Bergen. She was the daughter of the actor Berent Johannessen and the actress Laura Elvig, and the sister of the actress Borghild Johannessen. On June 14, 1901, she married the actor Hauk Aabel. She was the mother of the actors Per Aabel and Andreas Aabel. Johannessen had her stage debut on January 4, 1900 at the Central Theater under the direction of Rudolf "Rulle" Rasmussen. She played the role of the young girl Hildegard in the comedy ''Das Opferlamm'' (The Sacrificial Lamb) by Oscar Walther and Leo Stein, in which her father played the lead role. In 1900, she participated in the ''Nord-Norge-turneen'' (Northern Norway Tour), headed by Harald Otto, in which she played Helga in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's comedy ''Geografi og Kærlighed'' (Geography and Love). Kasper Idland
Kasper Idland MM, (21 June 1918 – 25 May 1968) was a Norwegian resistance member during World War II. Idland took part in the Norwegian heavy water sabotage in 1943. Early life and education Idland was born in Figgjo, the second child of Karsten og Gudrun Berg Idland, and had seven siblings. He graduated as an army sergeant in 1937, after 3½ years at ''Hærens underoffisersskole'' at Gimlemoen, Kristiansand. He then attended the school for postal officers, later working at the Post Office in Stavanger. World War II As Norway was invaded by Germany, Idland joined the Norwegian military forces at Sviland on 9 and 10 April 1940, and participated in the battles at Dirdal. He was held as a prisoner of war by the Germans at Madla, but was later released. ''Operation Swallow: The Battle for Heavy Water'' (original title: ''Kampen om tungtvannet'', French title: ''La Bataille de l'eau lourde'') is a Norwegian-French film from 1948. The history is based on the best known commando raid in Norway during World War II, where the resistance group Norwegian Independent Company 1 destroyed the heavy water plant at Vemork in Telemark in February 1943.
