Andreas Clemmensen
Andreas Clemmensen (7 August 1852 – 5 December 1928) was a Danish architect and royal building inspector. Early life and education Clemmensen was born on 7 August 1852 in Leck, Duchy of Schleswig, the son of Carl Frederik Clemmensen and Charlotte Laurence Hass. He trained at C.V. Nielsens Tegneskole and was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1867, from which he left as an architect in 1875. During his studies he was a draftsman for Johan Daniel Herholdt and Hans J. Holm. He conducted travel studies in Italy, France, England and the Netherlands in the years 1880-83 and again in Italy 1901, 1906, 1921 and 1923. He was in Sweden in 1921. Career Clemmensen was chairman of the Academic Association of Architects (''Academic Arkitektforening'') 1904–07, royal building inspector 1904–1911. Stockholmsgade
Stockholmsgade (literally "Stockholm Street") is a mainly residential street in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It follows the northwestern margin of Østre Anlæg, linking Sølvtorvet in the southwest with Oslo Plads at Østerport station in the northeast. The Hirschsprung Collection, an art museum, is located on the street. The Hirschsprung Collection's building (No. 20) is the only building situated on the park side of the street (even numbers). It was completed to a Neoclassical design by Hermann Baagøe Storck to house the personal art collection of Heinrich Hirschsprung. Hellerup Cemetery
Hellerup Cemetery (Danish: Gellerup Kirkegård) is a cemetery in Hellerup in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on Bernstorffsvej and was inaugurated on 4 February 1912. The cemetery serves Gentofte Municipality and the northnmost part of Copenhagen Municipality. History The establishment of a cemetery in Hellerup was first proposed in 1907 and Gentofte Municipality acquired a piece of land from Ibenske Jorder and laid it out as a burial site the following year. In 1912, after the local land owners' association had complained about the "scandalous state" of the site, the municipality commissioned a landscape architect to redesign the cemetery which was inaugurated on 4 February that same year. Palads Teatret (the Palads Cinema), also known simply as the Palads, is a cinema operated by Nordisk Film in Copenhagen, Denmark. It offers a wide selection of films in its 17 auditoriums, more than in any other Danish cinema. History The Palads was established in Copenhagen's former central railway station on Axeltorv which had ceased operations in 1911 following the construction of a new station. After major reconstruction work, the cinema opened on 18 October 1912. With some 3,000 seats and a 30-man orchestra, it was Scandinavia's largest entertainment centre. Immanuel Church, Copenhagen
Immanuel Church is a church at Forhåbningsholms Allé 20 in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It belongs to ''Københavns Valgmenighed'', a Grundtvigian congregation under Church of Denmark. The building was designed by Andreas Clemmesen and completed in 1893. The artists Niels and Joakim Skovgaard and Niels Larsen Stevns, all three members of the congregation, decorated the church building together with a group of other artists, providing a series of glass mosaics above the entrances as well as the church furnishings. The church is built as a typical danish Gesamtkunstwerk in skønvirke style.
