Andre Purlette
Andre Purlette (born 4 November 1973) is a Guyanese former professional boxer who competed from 1992 to 2009. Known as "Tombstone", Purlette turned pro in 1992 and won his first 32 bouts, including a victory over Jimmy Thunder. He later lost to veteran Jeremy Williams in 2003 and KOd by Aaron Williams in 2008. His professional career began when he was 19, on Boxing Day 1992, with a first round knockout of Alberto Ellis at the National Park. He went undefeated until 2002, when he was knocked out in round five of a heavyweight fight against 27-year-old Eliecer Castillo at American Airlines Arena on January 4, 2002. Pulette won the World Boxing Council Latino heavyweight title with a TKO victory over Crawford Grimsley on September 7, 2002 in Prague. Craig Payne
Craig Payne (May 22, 1961 – April 7, 2017) was an American professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2001, challenging for the IBO heavyweight title in 1992. As an amateur, he won the National Golden Gloves super heavyweight title in 1983. Amateur career Payne was a standout football player at Chillicothe (Ohio) High School, graduating in 1979. He moved to Livonia, Michigan, in July of that year and began boxing in order to lose weight. Payne won a gold medal at the 1982 National Sports Festival, followed by the National Golden Gloves title in 1983 after decisioning a young Mike Tyson. Jeremy Bates (born January 12, 1974) is an American professional boxer. Nicknamed "The Beast", Bates was a moderately successful fighter who fought several other journeyman fighters of his era. Elieser Ramos Castillo (born October 25, 1970) is a Cuban professional boxer in the heavyweight division. Amateur career Elieser Castillo Ramos was part of the legendary Cuban boxing program before he defected to the United States. Defecting to the US In 1994, Castillo escaped from Cuba on a raft with his brothers Eliseo (a fellow boxer) and Eliades and two other friends.
