Anders Bjørgaard
Anders Bjørgaard (18 March 1891 – 20 March 1967) was a Norwegian illustrator. He is particularly known for drawing the comic series ''Jens von Bustenskjold'' (with text by Sigurd Lybeck), which appeared in ''Arbeidermagasinet'' from 1934 to 1970. A memorial of Bjørgaard was raised in 1970. Personal life Bjørgaard was born in Holtålen to Johanna Bjørgaard and Anders Bjørgaard. He was married to Johanne Sofie Olsen. Holtålen is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Gauldalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is located in the Ålen area of the village of Renbygda. Other villages in the municipality include Hessdalen, Aunegrenda, and Haltdalen. The municipality is the 89th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Holtålen is the 283rd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,953. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 3% over the previous 10-year period. Sigurd Lybeck
Sigurd Lybeck (25 September 1895 – 5 November 1975) was a Norwegian writer. He is most commonly associated with his writing featuring the popular literary figure, '' Jens von Bustenskjold''. Biography Lybeck was born in the parish of Etnedal in Oppland, Norway. He was the youngest of four brothers raised on the Lybekk farm. He received training in Kristiania (nor Oslo) and was employed as a forest worker. He also wrote several popular novels and stories, mostly published as feuilletons in newspapers and magazines. He wrote in a popular humorous sequel style. His breakthrough was the series ''De giftegalne kaller i Oladalen'', published in '' Arbeidermagasinet'' in 1928. He is particularly remembered as the creator of the fictional character '' Jens von Bustenskjold'' from the rural valley of Oladalen. ''Arbeidermagasinet'' was a Norwegian language, Norwegian weekly literary magazine established in 1927. It changed its name to ''Magasinet For Alle'' in 1953, and ceased publication in 1970. The magazine is especially noted for its literary quality and its promotion of the short story. Editors ''Arbeidermagasinet's'' first editor from 1927 to 1931 was Otto Luihn. Aksel Zachariassen edited the magazine in 1931. In 1932 Nils Johan Rud took over as editor for the magazine. In 1953 the name of the magazine was changed to ''Magasinet For Alle'', and Rud edit the magazine until it ended its publication in 1970. In 1931 the magazine had a circulation of around 40,000. A portion of the profit was donated to a cultural foundation, which in turn contributed to the funding of the encyclopaedia ''Arbeidernes Leksikon''.
