Anastasia Yuryevna Skultan (russian: Анастасия Юрьевна Скултан; born February 18, 1984) is a Russian curler from Moscow. She has played in five World Junior Curling Championships (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003 orld Junior "B" in 2003, two European Curling Championships (2000 & 2002), three World Curling Championships (2001, 2002 & 2003) and the 2002 Winter Olympics. At the Olympics, Skultan played lead position for skip Olga Jarkova. The team finished in last place. Her top result in the World Championships was in 2003, when the team finished in sixth place. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. Krista Lee McCarville (born Krista Lee Scharf on November 10, 1982) is a Canadian curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. McCarville is a four-time Northern Ontario junior champion, the 2003 Winter Universiade silver medallist, a four-time Ontario provincial champion, a four-time Northern Ontario provincial champion, and a two-time Canadian national medallist. During her junior career, McCarville competed at four Canadian Junior Curling Championships for Team Northern Ontario, skipping three times (2000, 2001, and 2002), and playing second once (1998). Throughout her women's career, McCarville has competed in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championships, ten times, all as a skip. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students.
