Amsterdam Fashion Week
Amsterdam Fashion Week (AFW) is a fashion event that takes place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands biannually. Both established brands and starting designers show their collections. The AFW used to be held at the Westergasfabriek location, but after takeover by fashion entrepreneur Danie Bles the fashion week switches locations ever season. In addition to the runway shows, which were open to invited guests and public with purchased tickets, the event also had a program open to the public called AIFW Downtown. The Downtown event consisted exhibitions, parties, store openings and other events in the field of fashion, spread throughout the city of Amsterdam. Since the takeover in 2018 everything has been placed under one coherent official program. An annual show on the program is Lichting since 2007. Iris Van Herpen
Iris van Herpen (born June 5, 1984) is a Dutch fashion designer known for fusing technology with traditional haute couture craftsmanship. Van Herpen opened her own label ''Iris van Herpen'' in 2007. In 2011, the Dutch designer became a guest-member of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, part of the Fédération française de la couture. Since then, Van Herpen has continuously exhibited her new collections at Paris Fashion Week. Schepers Bosman is a Dutch fashion designer duo consisting of Sanne Schepers (born 1989, Heerlen, The Netherlands) and Anne Bosman (born 1988, Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Ronald van der Kemp (born 24 September 1964 in Wijchen, Netherlands) is a Dutch fashion designer and founder of demi-couture fashion house RVDK Ronald van der Kemp, his namesake label. Early career Van der Kemp graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art and Design in Amsterdam in 1989 with a BA in fashion design.
