Amsterdam Dance Event
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a five-day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. The event, organised by The Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, offers a full programme of daytime conferences at ADE Pro, ADE Tech, ADE University, ADE Beamlab, ADE Green, ADE Sound Lab and ADE Beats alongside the ADE By Day festival programme and the nighttime ADE Festival, which features over 1,000 events and 2,500 artists over five days in 200 clubs and venues. The most notable event is the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) in the Johan Cruyff Arena on Saturday night. ADE attracts over 400,000 people from all over the world to the city, making Amsterdam one of the busiest clubbing cities in the world. Amsterdam Music Festival
The Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) is an electronic dance music (EDM) event that takes place during the Amsterdam Dance Event mid-October in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Since the second edition in 2014, the main event has taken place in the Johan Cruijff Arena. In 2015 and 2016 the event was a multiple day EDM-event. During the AMF, the ''DJ Mag'' Top 100 DJs is announced and several prizes are awarded, among which the award for the number one DJ in the world. The music that is played is mostly house and dance music; other genres that are also played at the event include techno, trance and hardstyle. History In 2013 ALDA Events and ID&T organised the first edition of AMF together, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dutch Dance. De Balie is a Dutch organization that produces independent journalistic programs about art, culture and politics. De Balie is located at Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 10, near Leidseplein in Amsterdam. History When the 19th century building of the Amsterdam Cantonal Court was threatened to be demolished in order to build an eight-storey Bouweshotel in the late 1970s, Amsterdammers, including politician Hedy d'Ancona and artist Wim T. Schippers, launched the campaign "Bouw es wat anders" to prevent this from happening. The city council was persuaded, and a good destination for the building was found in art center De Balie in 1982. Paradiso (Amsterdam)
Paradiso is a Dutch music venue and cultural centre located in Amsterdam. History It is housed in a converted former church building that dates from the nineteenth century and that was used until 1965 as the meeting hall for a liberal Dutch religious group known as the "Vrije Gemeente" (Free Congregation). It is located on ''de Weteringschans'', near the ''Leidseplein'', one of the nightlife and tourism centers of the city. The main concert hall in the former church interior has high ceilings and two balcony rings overlooking the stage area, with three large illuminated church windows above the stage. The acoustics are rather echoey, but improvements have been made over the years. In addition to the main concert hall, there are two smaller cafe stages, on an upper floor and in the basement.
