Ammanford Cricket Club is a cricket club from Ammanford in Wales. They are members of the Welsh Cricket Association and currently play in the South Wales Premier Cricket League. Alun Evans (cricketer)
Alun Evans (born 20 August 1975) is a Wales, Welsh cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He has played first-class cricket since 1996, when his stroke-playing ability and free scoring captured the eye of spectators. He spent a short period of time with Middlesex County Cricket Club, Middlesex's Second XI, but when he hit three centuries in a mere month with the side, he was recommended to step up to first-class cricket, where he made his debut with 66 not out in 1996. Despite only playing one first-class match during 1997, he became a heavy scorer in the Second XI, at which point the retirement of Hugh Morris (cricketer), Hugh Morris allowed the young Welshman to take his place as a regular opening batsman. Cricket Teams In Wales
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Andrew Salter (cricketer)
Andrew Graham Salter (born 1 June 1993) is a Welsh cricketer. Salter is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born at Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, and was educated at Milford Haven School. Salter made his debut in county cricket for Wales Minor Counties against Wiltshire in the 2010 MCCA Knockout Trophy, and in that same season he made his debut in the Minor Counties Championship against Devon. In early 2011, he played four Youth One Day Internationals for England Under-19s against Sri Lanka Under-19s during England Under-19s tour there. William Thomas Owen (born 2 September 1988) is a Welsh cricketer who plays for Cheshire. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. Born in St Asaph, Clwyd, Owen attended Prestatyn High School and began his cricket career playing for Prestatyn Cricket Club. He was soon spotted by the Glamorgan scouts and began playing for their second XI in 2006. In 2007, he made his debut for Wales Minor Counties and at the end of the season, he made his first-class debut for Glamorgan, playing in their final County Championship match of the season against Gloucestershire. That year, Owen began a degree course at UWIC in Cardiff, and therefore divided his time in the 2008 season between playing for the Cardiff University Centre of Cricketing Excellence, the Glamorgan 2nd XI, Wales Minor Counties, Pentyrch and Prestatyn. Michael 'Mike' Thomas Reed (born 10 September 1988) is an English cricketer who is currently without a club. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium pace. He was born in Leicester, Leicestershire. Reed was educated at the De Lisle School, before attending Cardiff University to study Maths, where he played cricket for Cardiff MCCU. He also played minor counties cricket for Wales Minor Counties while he was studying, making his debut for the team against Shropshire in the 2009 Minor Counties Championship. Dean Cosker
Dean Andrew Cosker (born 7 January 1978) is an English former cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler who played for Glamorgan. He has played in first-class, List A and Twenty20 cricket. He attended Millfield School in Somerset between 1991 and 1996. He made his first-class debut in 1996 against Lancashire at Cardiff taking 6 wickets in the match. Soon after Cosker toured with England Under-19 cricket team in their tour of Pakistan. In 1997 he was given a longer run in the Glamorgan side as Robert Croft was playing for England. South Wales Premier Cricket League
The South Wales Premier Cricket League, is the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in South Wales. The league was founded in 1999 as the South East Wales League, being renamed following its accreditation as an ECB Premier League in 2001. The original South Wales Premier Cricket League did not include all of South Wales's leading clubs. Its clubs came from South Glamorgan and the traditional county of Monmouthshire, while clubs from further west played in the South Wales Cricket Association, a league which has been in existence since 1926. That league too sought ECB Premier League status, but the ECB was not willing to accredit two Premier Leagues in South Wales. In 2010, the South Wales Premier Cricket League was reorganised. The Cardiff Wales Stadium, which is part of Sophia Gardens Cardiff ( ; cy, Gerddi Soffia Caerdydd), is a cricket stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It is located in Sophia Gardens on the River Taff. Pakistan Eaglets
Pakistan Eaglets were a team of young cricketers from Pakistan, founded by Justice A.R. Cornelius. They toured England and Wales every year from 1952 to 1959, Malaya and Ceylon in 1960-61, and England again in 1963. Most of their matches were non- first-class, but they played 11 first-class matches between 1960 and 1963. Many Pakistan Eaglets players went on to play Test cricket for Pakistan.
