Amin Syam
Amin Syam (12 December 1945 – 1 September 2023) was an Indonesian military officer and politician. A member of Golkar, he served as governor of South Sulawesi from 2003 to 2008. Education and military career Amin Syam was born in Bone, a locality in South Sulawesi, on 12 December 1945 as the son of Andi Syamsuddin Petta Wawo, a police officer, and Andi Bossa Daeng Matajang. Upon graduating from high school, he studied agriculture at the Hasanuddin University, but dropped out a few years later in favor of the Indonesian Military Academy. He graduated from the academy in 1965 and began his service in West Java as an instructor at the Artillery Education Center in Cimahi, West Java. He was reassigned to the 6th Field Artillery Battalion in Makassar, South Sulawesi to fight against Islamic rebel groups in the region. Bone Regency
Bone Regency is a regency of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Originally the seat of the Bone state, it joined Indonesia in 1950. The regency covers an area of 4,559.00 km2 and had a population of 717,682 at the 2010 Census, 742,527 at the 2015 Intermediate Census and 801,775 at the2020 Census. Its main products are seaweed, rice, and fish. 1997 Indonesian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Indonesia on 29 May 1997. There were three simultaneous elections in one because voters were electing members of two levels of regional government (provincial and regency levels) as well as the national-level People's Representative Council.
