Ameerega Bassleri
The pleasing poison frog (''Ameerega bassleri'') is a species of frog in the family Dendrobatidae endemic to Peru. The Specific name (zoology), specific name ''bassleri'' honors Harvey Bassler, an American geologist and paleontologist. Distribution and habitat The species is found in lowland and montane tropical moist forests, in both pristine and slightly degraded habitat, in the Amazon drainage of Peru at elevations of 270–1,200 m. Conservation Although it can be extremely common in places, the pleasing poison frog is currently classified as Vulnerable species, Vulnerable by the IUCN due to ongoing habitat loss, mostly caused by farming and ranching. Ameerega Cainarachi
The Cainarachi poison frog (''Ameerega cainarachi'') is a species of frogs in the family Dendrobatidae. It is endemic to Amazonian Peru and found in the lowlands adjacent to the northern end of the Eastern Andes. It was named after the Rio Cainarache Valley, where it was first discovered. Taxonomy ''Ameerega cainarachi'' was described as ''Epipedobates cainarachi'' by in a publication that appeared in May 1989, and as ''Epipedobates ardens'' by in a publication that appeared in July 1989. The species was placed in ''Ameerega'' in the major revision of dendrobatids in 2006. Description Males measure and females in snout–vent length. The back of this species is red. The sides are black. ''Ameerega yoshina'' is a species of poison frogs found in central Peru. It was found in the Huallaga Province. It resembles ''Ameerega bassleri, A. bassleri'' and ''Ameerega pepperi, A. pepperi'', but can be differentiated by its advertisement call being slower than its relatives; approximately one-half the speed of ''A. bassleri'' and one-quarter the speed of ''A. pepperi''.Brown, Jason L., and Evan Twomey. Amphibians are four-limbed and ectothermic vertebrates of the class Amphibia. All living amphibians belong to the group Lissamphibia. They inhabit a wide variety of habitats, with most species living within terrestrial, fossorial, arboreal or freshwater aquatic ecosystems.
