Ambre Hammond
Ambre Hammond (born in Cairns) is an Australian classical pianist and composer. Life Hammond has been taught by her mother, Carolyn Hammond, since the age of three. In 1989, Hammond achieved a world record when she was awarded her AMEB Associate Diploma at the age of 11 and Licentiate Diploma at the age of 12 in the same year. At 16, Hammond won first prize in an international music competition in Córdoba, Argentina. In 1994, Hammond made her debut performance with the Orquesta Sinfonica De Córdoba where her performance of the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 was recorded live. She recorded a CD titled ''Devotion - Piano works of Franz Liszt'' at the age of 16, which includes ''Réminiscences de Norma (Bellini)'', '' Mephisto Waltz No. 1'', '' Après une lecture de Dante'' and ''Wilde Jagd''. Cairns
Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland. The population in June 2019 was 153,952, having grown on average 1.02% annually over the preceding five years. The city is the 5th-most-populous in Queensland, and 15th in Australia. Orchestra Of The City
The Orchestra of the City is based in London, England. Founded in April 2003, the Orchestra of the City consists of amateur but well-trained musicians, and plays to a high standard. It is a subscription orchestra and is run by a committee. The current Musical Director is Chris Hopkins, who took over the role from Ben Bayl in 2009. The orchestra performs large works with recent notable performances including the Premiere of Christopher Gunning's Guitar Concerto with Craig Ogden, Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 with Guy Johnston, Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2 with Andrew Harvey and Brahms Double Concerto with Andrew Harvey and Colin Alexander. SBS Radio And Television Youth Orchestra
The SBS Radio and Television Youth Orchestra (SBS Youth Orchestra) located in Sydney, was one of the premier youth orchestras of Australia. It was founded in 1988 by the Russian-born conductor Matthew Krel, who died in 2009. It was disbanded in 2013. From its inception it provided young musicians with extensive exposure to media publicity: the orchestra has made 30 TV programs and five CDs and has been aired on ABC Classic FM. As well as being broadcast on television and radio nationwide, it had a challenging concert schedule, performing at venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall every year.
