Amanda Brugel (born March 24, 1978) is a Canadian actress. Born and raised in Pointe-Claire (a suburb of Montreal), Quebec, she made her acting debut in the drama film ''Vendetta'' (1999). This was followed by roles in the comedy film '' A Diva's Christmas Carol'' (2000), the slasher horror film ''Jason X'' (2001), the comedy film '' Sex After Kids'' (2013), for which she won an ACTRA Award for Best Female Performance, the satirical drama film ''Maps to the Stars'' (2014), the independent drama film ''Room'' (2015), the superhero film ''Suicide Squad'' (2016), the drama film ''Kodachrome'' (2017), and the action thriller film '' Becky'' (2020). Pointe-Claire
Pointe-Claire (, ) is a Quebec local municipality within the Urban agglomeration of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in Canada. It is entirely developed, and land use includes residential, light manufacturing, and retail. As of the 2021 census the population was 33,488. Toponymy The toponym refers to the peninsula, or point, where the windmill, convent, and the Saint-Joachim de Pointe-Claire Church are sited. The point extends into Lac Saint-Louis and has a clear view of its surroundings. History Pointe-Claire was first described by Nicolas Perrot in his account of 1669, and the name Pointe-Claire appeared on a map as early as 1686. ''Paradise Falls'' is a weekly soap opera television series which aired nationally on the Showcase channel in Canada, starting in 2001.
