Amalievej 2 (Frederiksberg)
Amalievej is a street in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark, linking Bülowsvej in the west with H. C. Ørsteds Vej in the east. The western end of the street is lined with large late 19th-century villas while its eastern end is dominated by taller buildings. History The street was constructed by Frederik Bülow in approximately 1852 as one of the first streets in a new neighbourhood of single family detached homes. The street was initially called Amaliegade but the name was changed to Amalievej to avoid confusion with Amaliegade in Copenhagen. It was named after Amalie Dohlmann, a daughter of the owner of nearby SvanemosegårdFrits August Dohlmann. Her sister was the painter Augusta Dohlmann. Svanemosegård was located on Bülowsvej and the Dohlmann family were personal friends of Frederik Bülow. Defense Minister Carl Lundbyee lived in the house at No. 4 from 1857 to 1873. Frederiksberg
Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is formally an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the City of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. Frederiksberg is an enclave surrounded by Copenhagen Municipality. Bülowsvej
Bülowsvej is a street in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from Gammel Kongevej in the south to Åboulevard in the north, linking Madvigs Allé with Brohusgade. The University of Copenhagen's Frederiksberg Campus (University of Copenhagen), Frederiksberg Campus dominates the west side of the street with its large main building from 1895. Amaliegade
Amaliegade is a street in central Copenhagen, Denmark, which makes up the longer of the two axes on which the Rococo district Frederiksstaden is centred. Amaliegade extends from Sankt Annæ Plads to Esplanaden, passing through the central plaza of Amalienborg Palace on the way where it intersects Frederiksgade, the other, shorter but more prominent, axis of the district. The street is dominated by a number of elegant mansions, most of which are from the second half of the 18th century. At Amalienborg Palace, Amaliegade is spanned by a colonnade. Augusta Dohlmann
Augusta Dohlmann also known as ''Henriette Augusta Johanne Dohlmann'' (1847–1914) was a Danish painter. She was known for her flower painting. Biography Dohlmann was born in Frederiksberg on 9 May 1847. In 1878 she traveled to Paris to study French and painting. She returned to Denmark in 1880 when she exhibited at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition, where she would exhibit annually. Throughout her lifetime she would make several trips to Europe. Dohlmann was active in the formation of the ' (the Art Academy's Art School for Women) in Copenhagen which open in 1888. In 1901 she became the first female member of the Board of the ''Kunstnerforeningen''. In the mid 1890s she taught drawing and painting in Gothersgade. Carl Christian Constantin Hansen (Constantin Hansen) (3 November 1804 – 29 March 1880) was one of the painters associated with the Golden Age of Danish Painting. He was deeply interested in literature and mythology, and inspired by art historian Niels Laurits Høyen, he tried to recreate a national historical painting based on Norse mythology. He painted also many altarpieces and portraits, including the monumental oil painting '' The Danish Constituent Assembly'' (''Den grundlovgivende Rigsforsamling'') between 1861 and 1865.
