Amaka Agugua-Hamilton
Amaka Agugua-Hamilton (born April 13, 1983) is the current head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers women's basketball team. Agugua-Hamilton replaced Kellie Harper who left to become the head coach of her alma mater, the Tennessee Lady Vols. Agugua-Hamilton became the first African- American female head coach for any sport at Missouri State. The 2019–20 Missouri State Lady Bears basketball team represented Missouri State University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Bears, led by first year head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton, played their home games at JQH Arena and were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association is an association of coaches of women's basketball teams at all levels. The organization was formed in 1981, with the goal of addressing the needs of women's basketball coaches.
