Altan Urag
Altan Urag (; mn, Алтан Ураг, ; " Golden Lineage") is a Mongolian folk rock band. Formed in 2002, the band's musical style combines traditional Mongolian and contemporary influences. They're considered to be the pioneers of mongolian folk-rock. Their music has featured in the 2006 film '' Khadak'', the 2007 film ''Mongol'' and the Netflix television series ''Marco Polo''. The members of the band have all been trained in classical Mongolian music. Their performances typically include the ''morin khuur'' (horse head fiddle), ''ikh khuur'' (grand horse head fiddle), ''bishguur'' (traditional horn) and ''yoochin'' (a type of hammered dulcimer), ''khöömii'' (throat singing) and long song vocals. Borjigin
A Borjigin, ; ; russian: Борджигин, Bordžigin; English plural: Borjigins or Borjigid (from Middle Mongolian);''Histoire des campagnes de Gengis Khan'', p. 119. ''Khadak'' is a 2006 Belgian/Dutch/German drama film directed by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth. Production The idea of ''Khadak'' was born in 1999 when Peter Brosens was filming the last part of his Mongolian trilogy, ''Poets of Mongolia''. In Mongolia he met Jessica Woodworth, who was working on her documentary ''Urga's Song''. Together they started researching a documentary about aviation and socialism in Mongolia, but soon felt that the one-hour time frame of a documentary could not accommodate the ideas they wanted to express. Hammered Dulcimer
The hammered dulcimer (also called the hammer dulcimer) is a percussion-stringed instrument which consists of strings typically stretched over a trapezoidal resonant sound board. The hammered dulcimer is set before the musician, who in more traditional styles may sit cross-legged on the floor, or in a more modern style may stand or sit at a wooden support with legs.
