Almopos Aridea Football Club ( el, Αλμωπός Αριδαίας) is a Greek professional football club based in Aridea, Pella, Greece, which competes in the Super League 2, the second tier of the Greek football league system. History Almopos Aridea was founded in 1926 and its name derives from the ancient region of Almopia, located in the homonymous town of Pella. The club's last appearance in a professional championship was in the 1984–85 season, when it competed in the Beta Ethniki, where it was relegated due to a deduction. 2022–23 Super League Greece 2
The 2022–23 Super League 2, known as Super League 2 betsson for sponsorship reasons, is the fourth season of the Super League 2, the second-tier Greek professional league for association football clubs, since the restructuring of the Greek football league system. The season is set to start on 4 November 2022 and will finish on 20 June 2023. The league will be conducted of 30 teams and two groups, this is due to the restructure and abolishment of the Football League. The B Teams of Olympiacos, PAOK, Panathinaikos and AEK Athens will also compete in the league for a second consecutive year. B Teams, however, are ineligible for promotion or relegation. Aridaía (; mk, С'ботско, ''S'botsko''; bg, Съботско) is a town and a former municipality in the Pella regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Almopia, of which it is a municipal unit. It was the capital of the former Almopia eparchy. Pella ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Πέλλας) is one of the regional units of Greece, in the geographic region of Macedonia. It is part of the Region of Central Macedonia. It is named after the ancient city of Pella, the capital of ancient Macedonia and the birthplace of Alexander the Great. Antonis Minou ( el, Αντώνης Μήνου, born 4 May 1958) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Minou took his first football steps in Almopos Aridea and to Kastoria in 1980 and two years later to Panathinaikos, where he became known to the general public and was called to the national team. At Panathinaikos he won two league titles and three cups. However, the difficult competition with Nikos Sarganis forced him to look for another football team and in the summer of 1988 he was transferred to AEK Athens. Giannis Taralidis ( el, Γιάννης Ταραλίδης; born 17 May 1981) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Taralidis started his career by APS Almopos Arideas. Ilias Solakis ( el, Ηλίας Σολάκης; born 15 December 1974) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a forward.
